How much SNOW ya got?

Just about everybody within 100 miles of the coast got some snow.

How much ya got?

I've got 15"s on da ground, but these 40 mph winds are making the drifting a major cluster ****.

So, whatcha got?

Parrot6909 12-27-2010 10:13 AM

According to the map we got 25". Can't tell with the drifts, i have a 6' drift blocking in my sliding glass doors in the back, the front yard has drifts over my expedition to the point that it looks like a pile of snow. The street is about 3-4' deep. No point even trying, winds are in the 40's. Downfall of working from home - no snow day.

Road King Cole 12-27-2010 11:49 AM

At home there was about a half a foot of heavy rained on snow, here at work in Foxboro (home of the AFC East Champions) was a foot it so...

spareparts 12-27-2010 02:12 PM

if it had been a little colder, we probably would have ended up with at least two inches, but it stayed abpve freezing yesterday, up above freezing today, all reminates of snow are long gone

tsubaki 12-27-2010 02:47 PM

About dis much.

macojoe 12-27-2010 04:12 PM

We got about 8" then it rained and it is really heavy stuff!!
Winds were over 50 here on the coast and the weather said Chatam got a 79 mph gust last night!

Getting cold tonight and they said what you did not clear today was going to be like cement tonight!

chumbucket 12-27-2010 04:38 PM

17" up my way. All cleared before noon and I was snoozing the afternoon away. Or at least trying to, but someone kept calling me. :bat: ^^^

BRIELLY 12-27-2010 04:45 PM

We got at least 30" in Coastal NJ. I'm hoping the tarp and a-frames on my boat held up but there's no way I'm getting to the marina until tomorrow. We just took a 10 minute drive and wound up pushing about 4 different people who thought they could get through in their front wheel drive cars.:head:

inaforty 12-27-2010 05:14 PM

Nothing much here. Maybe 6 to 8" but lots of rain on top of it to wash some of it away. Heavy as he$$ to move. Turned into a frozen mass by the time I got out of work at 3 PM this afternoon.

cfelton 12-27-2010 05:30 PM

We got about 10 in. to a foot with some big drifts as the wind was pretty strong. Alot of it melted away today and started freezing back about 4 o'clock.

charlie_the_tuna 12-27-2010 05:33 PM

almost two. light and fluffy because it's colder than sh!t here. shoveled some. shovel some more tomorrow.

I'm with ya Brielly! In Toms River, NJ we got +30". Gonna get a snow blower cause that was the third 2ft+ snowfall in 12 months. Global warming my ***! Hopefully after I dish out a couple hundred $ on a blower it'll never snow in Jersey again.

24" on my front lawn... more or less in the drifts, depending on how the wind pushed it. I haven't seen a storm like this one in a long time... 15-20 years maybe? Radio said it was the 5th heaviest snowfall in NY city history...(which is about 25 miles from me) Cleared 3 houses today... (mine, parents and inlaws) Thank God for those snow blower thingies... :head:

Got about a foot on the Eastern Shore of VA

RWilson2526 12-28-2010 10:56 AM

I'll guess 18" + here too....really impossible to tell with the drifting but based upon the size of the drifts that wasnt no 10"-12" snow... I had not yet put my full winter tarp on ...in the summer I just put up my bimini and through a tarp over the hole thing...but I know the bimini is in real jeopardy with any snow...so there I was out ther Sunday morning building my tarp supports....the tarp (which was starting to wear some) survived the whole storm...yesterday I climbed in the boat to knock a little snow that settled on one side....got out went inside and within 10 minutes the tarp ripped clean right down the center from one end to the other. its the sorriest sight you will ever see right now....calling for high 40's this weekend so I know one of the things on my to do list.

MJ, check the trunk if you can dig the car out. Randleman, it will prob be in the high 70's where you are for the remainder of the week..

Destroyer 12-28-2010 11:35 PM

MJ, it will show up just as soon as all the snow melts. :)

macojoe 12-29-2010 10:56 AM

Well thats fine by me. as long as it shows up before fishing season!!

Big Lar 12-29-2010 04:48 PM

Destroyer 12-30-2010 06:41 PM

RW, Sorry to hear abiout your misfortune with the tarp... Been there..know the feeling... Things will be better. Not to be the bearer of bad tidings, but it's supposed to rain Sunday....so time is not on your side. If you need help I'll be around all weekend. :head:

Skools Out 01-03-2011 12:56 PM
