Looks Good!!

But get rid of that strap going across the boat it does nothing for you! The boat is to heavy to bounce off the trailer. What you should have is transom straps that go on the U bolts to the trailer, now if the cable breaks it will keep the boat from rolling off the trailer, a safty chain on the winch post is also good.

Since the notch is no longer being utilized, it's just a matter of having something there to stop water from coming thru the notch...if were mine, I'd track down a piece of 1" Starboard, cut to fit, rout the edges to make it look good and put a #10 SS screw every 6-8" along the sides and bottom edge, finishing off w/4200 in the seam...it'd look great and dam that notch up for you...

Luv your work, Blu!!...you really did a nice job on "er...

Yep. NEVER just hold your boat on your trailer with the winch cable. Once you get the boat secured attach a chain from your trailer winch post to the bow eye. I think it's actually required in some states.

(Speaking personally, I have both transom straps and a belly strap. 9 times out of ten I just use the belly strap. Mine is the ratchet type and I can get a real snug hold. Transom straps look cool, but they are a pain (IMHO) to put on). :head:

I don't know where you guys got the idea that I don't have a safety chain on the winch post? I have a heavy duty galvanized chain on the post.
I using a strap because it does not have any u-bolts on the transom.....
