You'd be riding around in an old worn out tub.

Easy there big guy. I am the proud new owner of the "old worn out tub". Good thing I am not easily offended. That was a:nut:.

Speaking of wore out tubs. When I went to pick-up Reelapeelin's 74 I experienced some truck trouble. On my way home with boat in tow I stopped at Advance auto parts near Reel's house to run inside and get a fuel filter. When I returned to my truck I had a business card for boat repair stuck between the weatherstrip and the glass on the drivers side.
I never laughed so hard in my life. John's Boat Works "We're not the Biggest...just the Best" in Spartanburg.

I think he was looking to repair the old girl. LOL He was seeing dollar signs with the looks of her for sure...

Budget Racer

Reel, don't get in a hurry there. I need to start saving up and figuring out what I am going to need in material. I intend to make it into a speedboat racer. So many of the speed boats I see on the water are very similar to this 20' hull at the waterline. Reel has some great pictures of the old T-craft racers in his gallery. This one is not going to be a showpiece but it is going to run. I will get pictures this time. First thing is a new transom, stringers and floor. Lightweight composite and possibly vacuum bagged. Then a new front deck from the bow extending back 2 to 3' beyond the existing console. Big Shrimpin and Ferm caught me testing the water on another site. The hull will need a pad of sorts to make it more stable. I want 75 mph or more. It sounds crazy but I need a project and I have the speed bug again. Function over form, she won't be going to the painter this time. I am excited and look forward to getting started but I know it is destined to be a long term project.

Ridge you finally let the cat outta the bag...I know it'll be a long-term deal...mods like that don't happen overnite...but I just wanted the guys to have an idea of what the future holds in store for your new 74......maybe not a showboat...but definately a GOboat!!...:sun:...I still can't wait...
