Greetings!
I recently purchased a 1984 V20 Steplift CC from my brother-in-law. It has a rebuilt 470 mercruiser (2 years ago) and a new trailer ($3k) 3 years ago. I know my brother-in-law always took excellent care of the mechanics. It also has radar, an older garmin chart plotter, radio, fish finder and a recently new bimini (with windows). I paid $5k for it, which I think is a decent deal, but I get free “tech support” for life. Before this boat, I had a catalina 22 sailboat. The sailboat just was not for me and my aging body, so I sold that to my son-in-law. I had it out twice now in buzzards bay, had a great day of fishing yesterday (albeit I only caught a 10 pound Blue). It was nice to be able to launch the boat by myself (don’t have to take the wife with me if you know what I mean). This picture (which I hope works) is when we returned (I know the fender and the forward dock lines are out of place). I have been reading for forum here and appreciate all the great info! This is now my favorite toy! Thanks Dave |
Welcome! Nice setup.

I live in Middleboro, I spent my summers as a kid in Wareham (agawam beach area).Yestarday I used a boat ramp in Fairhaven to cut across the bay. I am also thinking about using the tempest knob ramp as it is closer to home.
Thanks for the welcomes!!!! |
Congrats on your new toy! The v's are great to own. Looks like you got a nice one.

Yes, I saw that. I was hoping that he was too busy trying to change his pedestal (which I was also thinking about doing).

I use a Fairheaven ramp all the time Hoppy Landing, we cut across to Lucas are all summer for Fluke, Sea Bass, Scup, Bass Nice ramp, Maybe we will see you there at some point?
I done there this area, we fishing Stellwagon for Cod and Tuna. All most time to call it a season :( |
Hey, road king, i really like that radar arch, you gave me a great idea and i think is easy to fabricate. I'm also new in this forum and in the V-20 world, great place here and great boats. how big are those pipes on you radar arch? are they aluminum?
|
Hi Macajoe,
I liked the Hoppys landing for the sailboat because it was close to my mooring. For single handed launching, I used the seaview ave ramp because the dock is right there (no pole to go around)...just try not to be there at full moon high tide. Yes, season may be over. Certainly this weekend doen't look good. Hi Nothing Else matters, Its aluminum, I think they are 2 inch tubes. If you want I could take more pictures of how its built. rkc |
Welcome RKC.
1984 is the BEST year V-20's ever made, congrats. |
Welcome to the site , Best of luck with your Boat !
