1990 v20 pump ?

I noticed yesterday in the bow by the starboard side under the seating area, there is a pump, anyone knows what this pump is for? Does not look like bildge pump cause is not mounted in the bildge low, but is mounted on the stringer horizontaly with a hose going out to a hull thru fitting and the other hose don't know where. Help.

Looks like you have a Live well setup on the PORT (LEFT) side ? As shown in your pictures assuming we are talking about the same side it looks like a live well with a circulation pump ?

No, i was talking starboard side (right), up in the front under the seating kinda area in the cabin.

I don't know if you can see it on this picture, but up front there are two thruhulls, one is for the starboard front floor drain, the other is ????????? and connects to that pump i',m talking about.

"starboard front floor drain"
do you have a deck drain under the steering wheel?
does the pump have a grate at the bottom like a bilge pump or does it have a round inlet for a hose connection?

Porta potti hookup is my guess.

I do have a drain under the steering wheel and there is an outlet for that next to the thruhull in question.

No, pump does not look like bildge pump, has one hose going to the thruhull and one hose going in from i don't know where. Both hoses look like 3/4" .

I don't think so, cause there is no opening in there to hook it up to and also is only 3/4", usualy overboard discharge is 1" or bigger and comes out from the bottom of the boat.

just a wild guess, someone had a live well hooked up in the bow area. can you take a water hose and run water through the line you are unsure of and see where the water comes out. i'm guessing the in deck fish box, maybe.

willy 09-25-2009 06:55 PM

Or it could be a washdown pump, where does the hose feeding the pump come from?

Could not be a live well cause there is no water pick up under or side under the water line.
I will try to shoot water from the thru hull on the side but i doubt it will go thru the pump. It is a weird looking pump, i haven't see something like that. In the front cabin there is a drain in the floor which i pour water with the hose yesterday and all the water was coming out from the rear center drain plug at the bottom of the V.
I will try and get a picture of the pump and maybe someone could identify it.

No washdown pump, no water pick up enywhere in the front. Only water pick i have is for the live well on the port rear access hatch.

the water P/U will be just off center of the keel line in the rear. Look under your boat in the rear about 24" forward for a bronze grate looking thru hull with a corresponding pipe above it in the bilge. Likely a bronze pipe about 6"
tall with one or two outlet hoses off a valve with a handle. The outside of the intake is likely bottom painted so you will have to look for the raised spot.
Often the pump was placed right on the valve in the bilge but I guess it would be possible to place it forward.
The Wellcraft dealers would add different options like live well and wash downs systems at a customers request that is why you see so many varied set ups in boats.

I know about that water pick up, is for the live well. Anyway, i went back in the cabin yesterday and i found out that is a raw water washdown pump set us bildge pump. With another words is a manual on/off pump thet picks up the water from under the floor in the cabin. It was installed by the previous owner i guess cause it does not look factory install.

There is a deck drain where the helm is and another on the port side.

phatdaddy 09-28-2009 07:00 AM

is that normal, to have deck drains in the forward area. the normal balance of the hull puts it stern down when running and at rest.
does anybody else have drains up front? i'm not saying it is a bad thing , just wondering if it was a feature on later models than mine....
