NC/SC Bound
Well I am off at 0darkthirty in the morning to visit friends in North Myrtle Beach and drop off my kids with them, then off to see GarageNC (Lee) in NC for a day or two while making my way back up to Lavalette NJ for a birthday party on the beach for my sister in law on saturday night.
y'all take care and comb your hair |
So, are you going to take the Ferry from Lewes to Cape May on your way back?
Just becasue HAMMER left Lewes, doesn't mean the rest of us left as well. I still hang out there on weekends. |
Willy your making me tired brother...... how many miles are on that new truck... haha be safe and have fun .
Parish sue karly and I are planning a trip to lewes some time in august we'll look ya up.... |
Willy you gonna love them outer banks man.....I guess you are on the road right now headed to Myrtle....safe travels my friend! This should be an interesting report indeed!
Props to GarageNC for playing host to one of our most notorious Snaggers. |
Will be there all week August 14 to 23.
|
Hey Guys, What type of adult beverage(s) does Willy and the Misses like? I'd like to hand them one as soon as they put their foot in the door. Any of you guys are welcome to come stay here, me and the Misses don't mind friends staying, and besides how can you pass up a free place to stay this close to the outer banks!!!!!!
|
Can't swear to it Garage, but I think I recall seeing mentions in Willy's posts about fine whiskies.
|
Glad to have Sir Willy in our midst, wish I could get to the coast to meet him.
|
Spent a few days on the outer banks in June. Went to visit a friend who rented a house north of Corolla. 8 miles up the beach after the paved road ends. Access by 4WD only. I'm ready to go back.

Hey Garage, just found this post from Willy on thread called "boat drinks." Maybe he would like one after the long drive:
summer time drink of choice (after boating) is the classic Sundowner. Made with either old original gin Plymouth, which is still made in the same wooden vats used for hundreds of years in the same town and same family. A close second and almost indistinguishable is the original Bombay Gin. The classic sundowner is made with a couple of rocks and a squezze of lime and either of the above. The classic drink made on safari in africa to this day. I being a little more civilized prefer a splash of tonic. If I am somewhere where it available a good mojito will always be my first choice. |
Here's another post from Willy in a thread called "grits" strangely enough. Heck, apparently Willy likes anything!! Hope you guys have fun.
Ah Ezra, I know yee well !! Ezra is good, strong stuff. It is the same stuff as Heaven Hill you know, kept a little stronger and aged longer. I like it. But usually I drink my bourbon straight up or probably 50% of time on the rocks so I tend to go for the ones with strong bourbon smoothness and not so much bite. I found that Evan gives you a good sipping whiskey at a very reasonable price with those attributes. If I am in a cigar mode or having it with friends who will drink it the same way and appreciate it I brake out the Makers Mark, there are a couple of others I like to but for bourbons thats how I roll. Now any discussion on Scotch!! |

Hey thanks Guys, I put some good Scotch in the freezer today and I'll get some other adult fellowship, thanks to everyone, I hope Willy likes heat, it was 95 today and humid as a sauna, tomorrow and rest of the week it's gonna be the same as today with ocassional showers in the evening.
|
Break him in right Garage!
|
if he's thinking about moving down South, then he needs to get used to the weather
|
He shor does Spare
He's on the minnesott ferry coming that way, he said he talked to Todd and suggested that way. Either way I went and got some Captn Morgan Rum to make majjito's, He'll have a selection to pick from, and if he doesn't like anything I got then we'll give him some southern advice!! |
Just remind him how nice it is during the winter and I'm sure he'll get used to the summertime humidity FAST.
|
yeah he was in Emerald Isle when we talked heading to Beaufort for lunch. then he said he may go back 17 around i said i think you may find it easier to go the free ferry, call Lee and ask lol. So he is making he's lap around NC coast the ferry is a nice ride too good sight seeing too.

Well guys Willie and the Misses left this morning around 6:30am to head up the coast to a family gettogether.
They are a really nice couple (for being yankees; ha ha) only kidding! Mrs Willie is a hottie for all your guys who have never had the pleasure to meet her:love:. We had a nice visit with them and hope they can come back (well at least mrs Willie can). Only kidding again. I'll post some pics later but right now I just wanted let everyone know that all my belonging are safe, I took my fillet knife and cut his "CARPET BAG" to pieces so he couldn't load them up like his ancestors probably did, thanks for the idea REEL.:haha: I'll post more info and PICS of Willie's visit later. Also Reel; he's still not in the classification of a DAMN YANKEE yet!!!! Now I'm going to act like a COW PATTY and hit the trail. |

Well gents just had a great time traveling around with the CEO, got to see a little of North Myrtle Beach, very nice for a vacation on the beach,
http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f1...z/IMGP1111.jpg http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f1...z/IMGP1112.jpg But we had the good sense to leave our kids there for a vacation with our friends and head north. Stopped in on Skools (Todd) stomping grounds, Emerald Isle area and we both liked that a lot, pretty country and a boaters paradise. On the phone with Skools while we were there and had lunch at one of his spots. Best lunch we had for a long time. http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f1...z/IMGP1114.jpg Nice views of the area and snapped a shot of what sat below us while we relaxed and ate. http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f1...z/IMGP1115.jpg http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f1...z/IMGP1117.jpg http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f1...z/IMGP1116.jpg |
Took the Ferry across part of Pamlico Sound, which is really pretty country, an area that the CEO and I are going to go back to for sure to check out with more time, the New bern, Oriental area
http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f1...z/IMGP1120.jpg http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f1...z/IMGP1121.jpg Then we headed up to the best part of our trip, to see Lee and his great lady Sandy, folks these are very nice people. The CEO and Sandy hit it off right away, and Lee? what can I say. Any one who meets you in the driveway with two liter size Mojitos as you pull up has got his sh!t together in my book LOL. Anyhow Lee has got him a set up there that is gorgeous. His house, that he built is impeccable, and the setting is fantastic. http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f1...z/IMGP1134.jpg |
Looks like a pretty sporting trip for you and the Missus...glad yall hadda big time...Emerald Isle looks like a neat place!!...
And Lee sure looks like he's got it goin' on fo sho!!... |
Then there is the landing off the back of his property to the river, where there is not one but two V20's lounging waiting for the next adventure
http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f1...z/IMGP1124.jpg http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f1...z/IMGP1122.jpg First night took the V out with the lady's across the river bay and had a great dinner in Elizabeth City http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f1...z/IMGP1126.jpg The Captain at the helm http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f1...z/IMGP1125.jpg |
The next day took a ride around with Lee and Sandy and got the lay of the land, pretty country. Picked us up a bushel of fresh crabs and had us a feast at Lee's house with his neighbors coming to join in. Dam those crabs were good.
http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f1...z/IMGP1127.jpg http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f1...z/IMGP1133.jpg Lee's good friend and neighbor two doors down has himself one of the most mint V20's I have seen. Actually its a V21 with 200 hours on it since he bought it new. Very, very sweet. His name is Tom and he and his wife are fine people we had a blast with. took a tour of his set up and like Lee's it is sweet. http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f1...z/IMGP1132.jpg http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f1...z/IMGP1128.jpg http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f1...z/IMGP1129.jpg |
glad you enjoyed Fins they do have good food. Beaufort is a pretty town, did you by chance ride by Black Beards House while there? it's just right up the street from Fins. Wish i had been down while you were passing thru.
|
So we finally left on Saturday, had to attend a birthday party on the beach in Lavalette NJ.
It was a great trip, met some very fine folks, hooked up Ozzie to Lee via phone while down there and we are going to do a striper get together this fall hopefully. And to Dave (Spareparts) and Ozzie I have this message, yes I do know the difference between a Yankee and a Dam Yankee. I also know what fine people are when I meet them and I just had the pleasure of the company some very fine people. Thanks Lee and Sandy for your great southern hospitality. And you know where your next trip is, right. |
Yep Sandy and I will make a trip up north to see ya'll, you have us thinking when Sandy's job ends that may the time to take a trip.
I'm glad ya'll had a great time and youre welcome back anytime. Ozzie: I'm serious about hooking up this winter and catching the ocean stripers. Willy says he's game. Maybe some of you others would like to hook up and go, we could probably get some of the VA boys to go. |
Well well,
Nice touch of southern hospitality boys.:nice: Lucky Mr and Mrs Willy. |

We go on about you Yanks...but the truth is, some of the finest folks I've ever encountered were from up there...I had a boss once who was a former NYC Policeman prior to finding his way to SC...what a gentleman...EVERYBODY loved "The Bear" and he would do anything for you...as fair-minded an individual as I've ever met... Any barrel of apples has it's gooduns and baduns...we got some pretty big homegrown @$$holes down here too... |
