A night out in NY
Listen as many were, I was upset about the closing of the House that Ruth Built but last night thanks to good friends that gave us box seats in the Legends suite (big bucks) for me and the CEO along with the two biggest Yankee fans in the world (Son and Daughter#3&4) we saw the game against LA in unbelievable luxury with incredible food and service along with leather seats in the sixth row and it was sweet, the new stadium is gorgeous.
If you get the opportunity to see a Yankee game, GO. In classic Yankee fashion, come behind drama in the last up in the ninth winning by two with Posada lining into left field with bases loaded. I thought the two #1 Fans would launch into space. And the roar, well, you know. A couple of pics of the new palace http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f1...z/IMGP0890.jpg http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f1...z/IMGP0891.jpg http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f1...z/IMGP0888.jpg The #1 Fans Dan and Lyndsey http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f1...z/IMGP0893.jpg Me and the CEO http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f1...IMGP0905-1.jpg the Jeter Man and his biggest fans http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f1...z/IMGP0901.jpg A happy kid and a game ball http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f1...z/IMGP0897.jpg |
That is awsome!
|
Now that's a night to remember!
|
Wow
Definitely this is one night you will remember forever, Awesome ..Take me to the ball game up five notches
! |
damn Willy sweeeeeet seats. I went to the 2nd home game a couple weeks back....pretty good seats but not those babies. The stadium is pretty darn nice. I love the open concessions to the field instead of being in that dank tunnel they used to have.
great come from behind win too!! I just watched YES's encore this morning! Good job not leaving early....although with seats like that I'd be still sitting their this morning. |
Pretty COOL, Willy!!...looks like a BIG NIGHT for the fam...WOW!!...
|
Very very nice! That is awsome! By the looks on your faces you all had a great time.:clap:
|
Thanks guys, it is sure one for the record books. The CEO had a blast, as a matter of fact me, her and the kids were on ESPN broadcast of the game several times, were getting calls at the stadium from friends and family watching the game. My son in Penn State called on my cell and said where are you right now? He heard the roar in the phone and said never mind I just saw you again on the TV.
Pretty cool, my #4 Lyndsey was wired and still going this morning about it. |
Willy, while I appreciate the great time you had with your family and the great seats I have to question your judgement when it comes to baseball teams. :hi: Go Sox!
|
You can question all you want my friend. Good luck with that, let me know how it works out for ya.
And a couple of thoughts, I am not the biggest sport fan anymore. Prefer hanging out outdoors chasing after something. Or hanging with friends and family and can barely tell you what the names of all the teams are nowadays. But there are some sports experiences every man should have and I have been lucky enough to experience some first hand. One of the tops is a Yankee game at home in the stadium that Ruth built and now a new tradition has started. If that game is while playing the Red Sox even better. Another is a Title fight in the Felt Forum and or a Old Knicks Title game in Madison Square Garden, especially against the Celtics. Another is a World Cup soccer match anywhere in Europe and especially when down to the final four matches But for shear power, energy and emotion it would be any NCAA college basketball game final four match. Same with college football. The power of it all running through you at any of these events is something as I said that every man should experience and I am sure there are others you guys have seen. But I think the ones I mentioned are among the very best of all I have seen all over the world. |
I too have to question with whale , you should be wearing a phillies hat and shirt,
1- eagles. 2- phillies 3- Sixers. 4- flyers. and best of all . NOTRE DAME fOOTBALL. thick or thin these are my teams. |

Yeah...I'm still gettin' over "Cream's" final concert in Chastain Park in Atlanta in 1969...Eric Clapton and Ginger Baker wailin' at the top of their game!!...still got the tickets, too... and BTW...great of the Yankees to commemorate Obama's Inaugural Year w/the plaque...and for you to highlight it here just for us!!...Whadda guy!!... |

A new team is born 1969 1994 ... They moved to Washington D.C. :fight: |
Ozzie I did not say the Yankees are perfect, sometimes they do just like some voters and step on their #$%@

Ya mean like when W got elected...the SECOND time... Besides, there Willy...I's yankin' yer chain a bit...I'm sure that plaque commemorates the 1st year of the new Yankee Stadium and has NOTHING to do the new president's 1st year... |
I would add to your list of sports experiences that every man should experience at least once the greatest race in the world, the Indianapolis 500. It may look boring to some of you who have watched it on television because it's just 33 cars turning left all day long. However, to experience it in person is simply amazing. The sounds, the smells, the electricity in the air, and of the course the sights (on and off the track) are unforgettable. Anytime you can get approximately 400,000 people to attend a single day sporting event it must be something pretty special. By the way, I am a resident of Indianapolis (I have attended probably 25 races), and this has been a paid advertisement from the Indianapolis chamber of commerce and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

I agree Nipper, wholeheartedly.
And Ozzie I know! |

Didn't wanna diminish the night at the new stadium...just joustin' w/you old buddy...it DID look like a pretty special event for you and your family... |
Man Willy, those were sweet seats!!! Glad you could treat the family to a great time in the big city. Did your daughter catch a foul ball or did a player toss it up to her?
|
Great Pics. Willy. Glad to hear that your not anywhere near boston. : )-
|
Both my daughter and my son got balls that were fouled and caught by the dug out by LA team guys and tossed to them. Very nice.
I am glad it wasn't a driven foul where we were sitting as we were so close it would have broken my hand, I forgot a mitt. |

How long you rekon before they put a net up??... |

Those tickets in the "Legends" suite cost between $525 and $2,625 PER TICKET, yes that is PER TICKET. Dont know if its made the news down there but the Yankees have had a hell of a time selling those seats this year with the economy and all. Definitely a bad year to roll out the new stadium. |
Yeah, I heard a program on National Public Radio talking about the difficulty in selling the premium seats, and scalpers selling them at a small fraction of the face price.
