1983 Black Max 150
 

I have taken the plunge and ordered a 07 Optimax 150 I need to sell the Merc. Last compression check last year 117-120 psi on all 6 cylindners way to much new to list, this motor is mint and runs like new. You can eat off of it, looking to get 2500. Must be spring, Blu's come out of hibernation. Welcome back bud. That is one clean looking motor and a good deal for somebody looking for good power for short money. I'm a touch jealous about that Opti, so make sure you tell us how she runs for ya. ;)

Hammer, I ain't intending to bail on merc. I'll probably go Opti in the next few years. The V-rat weighs too much to hang on a V (my opinion) so if I was gonna stroke x 4 it would probably be Suzy. I've got a great Merc guy as a neighbor, so it will be hard to get away from Merc. All that said, my 88 BlackMax runs great. Who knows, I may hang another one if something should happen to mine. Mine's an 88;, and sometimes I think about it when I'm running the ocean in February, it can be lonely out there if something should go wrong.

Would love to get something new myself, but I know that wont ever happen. So the 86 Merc. is just gonna half to hang a bit longer.
