Working on a deal
Whatcha all think, I have been having a dialouge with the owner of this boat trying to hammer out a swap.
http://miami.craigslist.org/brw/boa/978469782.html Willy, Oz, MJ, Chum, Skools and the rest of ya..... let me know. |
Those are said to be a decent boat. I personally like the SUZUKI power, I know skoolz isnt fond of them though. His price seems a bit high unless it's in showroom condition though.
|
I'm helping a freind of mine fix up a 96 Offshore 26 with twin 150's. Seems like a decent boat. Make sure you check the floor, his is a little spongey around the t-top feet. The hull looks like a direvitive of the classic Formula/Albemarle/Early COntender/SeaV/ adn about a dozen others. We took his out the other day, it rides pretty good.

I likey!!...I know you gonna go over that motor pretty thoroughly, but see if you can find out as much history on that year's 225s AND that motor in particular as possible before ya sign on the dotted line...I'd find me a good marine tech and pay him to go over it...take him out if need be...when's the seatrial??...
Assumin' it's a 2-stroker, have ya asked the mix or trust auto-oiler question?... What ever ya do, don't fall in love w/it til AFTER ya buy it... |
As usual, check the transom & most of the older suzukis had corrosion issues. i think the bolts are half stainless & half fizzies.
|
Look's nice. Priced to move. Do check the motor and tank for effects of ethanol. Good luck.
|
i like it and no i've never had an issue with a Suzuki i actually want either a 140 Suzuki or a 150 Yamaha for my Sea Ox when done. I don't care for the old pre 1991 Zuks
|
I remember awhile back you had said you didn't like there oil injection systems on the pre-95's. I know the 2.7L's had some issues with unexplaineable piston failures as well as cracks in the lower units where the driveshaft retainer threads in.
|
yeah thats what BGA had was twin 2.7's on the 250 i got from him he lost one of those motors too.

Just don't do it man, Reel Crabby is sweet. At least wait till I fish on her a couple more times. Hey if I come down what are we going to do with just one old Geezer to throw out into the shallows. Don't even think about those flippers again!!

Sounds like The Pubah's got "Biggerboatitus"...:sun: |
So Franco, I am confused....what is wrong with your boat? Why do you want a different one?:head:

Cy...see that lil' shaver in Pubah's lap?...Pubah's got big plans to make a fisherman outta him, and will need extra room for diaper bags for a while!!... |
Nothing is wrong with my McKee, Just cant get to the offshore side of things. Have to go about 20 miles to hit 100' of water. Plus the new boat doesn't knock down the chop like a V20 does. It pounds a bit more due to less of a V in the hull. Plus if I play my cards right, I'll have a boat with no monthly payment. Plus I just miss having a Wellcraft. Plenty of fellas got skinny water boats and I can go get snook, reds etc all the time. But them Swordfish, Mahi's, Cobias are hard to reach!
|
All right then if that is what it is about I say go for it brother, I aint changing diapers though!!
