introducing zoso
hey guys:hi:, been following this site for a few months, gathering info on the V20, hoping one day I`ll have one . Last week, my neighbor informed me he was wanting to buy a boat but not willing to fork out much $$$. I saw this one on CG and we picked it up. The johnson 140hp top end is newer than the bottom and runs strong, we`ve had it out twice already.
its rockfish season in Virginia Beach :sun:, so I`ll be posting pics of the hawgs as they come. thanx for a GREAT site. http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/c...g?t=1227104677 |
Welcome Zoso, your boat looks good! What year you got there?
:hi: |
she`s a `74
I cant claim ownership `cause she`s my neighbors, but I`m enjoying tinkering with her!!! |
Welcome, you found the best way to enjoy a boat. Talk your friend into buying a boat.
|
Welcome and congrats on your boat.
Let us know when the hawgs get thick in the ocean....I for one will be making the trip up from NC. Won't be long now with this cold snap. |
welcome to the site. i'm pretty new here too. glad to see another local on the site. how have you guys done your two times out with the rock?
|
 Welcome
|
evilgli, our first trip out was to the 4th isl. at dusk, lost 2 mojo rigs ($30) along the rocks, trolled and casted the pilon`s on the incoming tide with no luck, so 1st night out was for practice.
We went again Mon. night but stayed around the Lesner Bridge managed 1 keeper @ schoolie size. Look`s like the wind machine is not dying down until Sunday, hopefully we can get her out then also. How you doin this season? , any luck? |
Welcome Z, you are a genious, I wish I had thought of that.
|
Congratulations and
Welcome to the site. Post more pictures of the new baby (might give me some ideas)! Looks great!! |
new v-20
Hi & welcome to the most informative website on the Wellcraft V-20/V-21. I see you live in Va Beach..I am just north of you on the Eastern Shore. I'll be enclosing my V-21 Sunday in hopes of snagging a few cows in our beautiful Chesapeake Bay in the coming weeks. Lots of knowledge here so feel free to seek it out. Dave

this is my first seaon striper fishing, so i'm still learning. been out to the hrbt 3 times in the past month and only brought 2 fish home the first time we went. working on saving some money up now to get my enclosure repaired here soon so i don't freeze my *** off out there. have not made it out to the cbbt yet, but hoping to soon, but i know nothing about that area out there. so hopefully it wo't be too hard to figure it out. |
congrats on your new FREE boat. have fun with her....

3 ways here just like said, I use a lighter line on the sinker so it will just break off with out losing everything else.

One thing about planers...since the line goes out to the board and then straight back, this can sometimes diminish the pressure of the line's hook-setting ability...so when a fish hits a planer line, I always wind down and SET it hard w/a little heavier drag... |
1974--- thats 34 years old and i still love looking at them
thre the best looking boats till today is it me or does anybody feel that same way I have my 78 sitting in my driveway and have to work on her this winter and shes 3 years old and still looking greatBUT she needs to be painted on the bottom, ive been saying that for 10 years now but this year she will be painted |

Yeah...I like the look of the earlier models too...classic lines that are hard to beat...but I would swap mine for a later model inna snap...the belly tank(w/ 20 more gals of fuel), more flotation and self-bailing hulls of the later models are no-brainers in terms of improvements... |
