traditional rendevous

Well I am off to the central mountains of PA tommorow with my son and some friends for the biggest archery (traditional) get together in the country , for four days camping in the mountains.
More longbows and recurves than you can shake a stick at.
Y'all take care and comb your hair

Camping is one of my most favorite things to do.

camping in the north has to be a lot better than here in the south, i would imagine the temps would be lower.

Man, we've been hunting in snake boots and shorts in mid November!
I can't imagine a real trip without dehydration setting in.

Well got back last night, had a great time, on and off T Storms blowing thru but did not slow down any of these traditional guys, some of my friends had last minute family issues that prevented them from coming but it was fun anyhow.
We used to camp at the shoot itself but too many folks there so for the past few years we camp at Lyman Run State Park, which is gorgeous.

The Eastern Traditional Archery Rendezvous is several courses on three D animal targets, about 18-24 per course scattered thru the mountains in very realistic hunting scenarios. Four of the courses start at the top of the mountain and take about three hours to walk and shoot. These are our favorites. They take you up on a ski lift and you leave from there on any of four different trails.

My son Daniel and one of my best friends, Dr. Richie Lopez, a great hunter and very good traditional archer. A good friend to share a hunt or camp with.

Some shots from the courses, the country is just amazing, they call it God's Country, Potter County PA. He definetly had a lot to do with it.
