I had the boat us. for a few years, had no claims so can't give you any opinion on that, they were easy to deal with for info etc. and the price was decent. Never checked progressive

I've heard some horror stories about Progessive on another site (THT). I'm sure every company has some customers that feel unsatisfied so it should all be taken with a grain of salt I guess.

Have Boat U.S. Pretty reasonable.....

I currently have PROGRESSIVE on my boat. Haven't ever had to use them, but I was very happy with the price. I'm paying $218 a year for $50/100 liability and $50K property damage along with a $2500 towing reimbursement policy. That is the only drawback to the towing is you have to pay for it and then they will reimburse you up to your towing limit. Around here a $1500 tow is pretty cheap anymore to. BOATUS didn't want to insure me due to the age of my hull as they only wanted to write me a plan with everything on it. They quoted me $768 a year with so many exclusions it wasn't funny. Personally I would get PROGRESSIVE insurance and SEATOW for your towing if you can't afford the reimbursement policy. TOW BOAT US on most of there tows will only give you covered tows within 50 miles of where the boat is stationed, PROGRESSIVE covers me up to 75 nautical miles of the continental US, and SEATOW is said to have one with no towing limit for $175 a year.

Reel, I only have good to say about BoatUS, but I've never filed a claim. After the refit, I took out a stated value policy on the PD. Wanted to make certain I could get my investment back if the worst happened. Fortunately, it hasn't.

I have Progressive. I pay about $600 for the two boats. Have never filed a claim. I use my Boat U.S. membership for "unlimited" towing.

i use 'em reel. i've called on 'em twice to haul my pops boat in. showed up in a timely manner and pulled us right back to the dock. they'll pull any boat you're on and they know their stuff. for $139. a year, you cant beat 'em.
