So. Never having fished this area before, what do I need to bring for gear. IE; what are we fishing for? I would assume (possibly wrong) that the Stripers will be further north at this time. If we are surfcasting for Stripers, what is the shoreline like? Any structure or is it wide open beaches? Plugs or chunk? Should I bother bringing a boat rod?

Stripers and weakfish, bait or plugs, plugs probably better for early morning and late afternoon. Resident stripers in Delaware Bay, so all sizes most of the year. Most of the big cows that are part of the big migrating schools should be thru by then but you never know. We catch em well into the summer in Raritan Bay. Jetty fishing should be good also for all the mentioned species, especially the weaks in the evening and tide changes.

Thanks Willy, you are right, at that time of year, be prepared for anything.

I just read the Bills sport shop report this morning and
they are catching tog at Indian river inlet.

I usually stop at Bills or one of the other shops and sak if
anyone knows what the daily catch is, they can usually give a good report.

Hey guys, this thread is so long I haven't had time to read it all!! I like the idea of this get together, but I don't know if it will be in Del. or N.J. In either case count me in. I have a house in Cape May County, and if the party is in Delaware, it's only a 20 nm run from Cape May to Lewes via the V! Let me know so I don't need to read all of this thread. Got to get some work done now.

Hey guys, just a heads up, I was informed that its Nascar weekend in Delaware are room rates are high and alot of places are booked. I still have rooms available at the University of Delaware for only 100 buck a night for Saturday night into Sunday only.

Well boys looks like we need to finalize some plans, where we getting together? When? What we all want to do? Who's bringing what? Etc.

Oh and I have been informed by the CEO that she is teaching CCD on Sunday and the kids all have places they have to be taken to. So she says I should go and have a good time and fish and oogle women and drink and eat. Not necessarily in that order and she is staying home.

The state park only charges $5 per car load,
but you can't drive on the beach.
Parking areas are close to the beaches though.

Right now, weather is hot and humid with pop up T showers.

This forecast doesn't show T showers,
but others have it.

Well, if you guys wanna surf fish at the Point of CapeHenlopen, I can grab a beach tag. Just never drove out onto the beach, but guess I will have plenty of help if we get stuck. ;D

So, what ya guys wanna do ??, never hosted a big get together. Check out Lewes, the state park, some sight seeing ?? or fish out on the point ??, hit the bars of gift shops ??
We can surf fish from my house, but after a certain time. We can do lunch and dinner on the grill. I got the dogs and burgers. Let me know what else you guys might want. Somebody last night swiped to gaint picnic tables from the state park and dumped them off at my house. ;D, guess I'll hold onto them for awhile. I'll scub them up today with some bleach.

State Park Rangers gave me to picnic tables for the Cult get together. Saved Lumber all that time in building something for me. ;D ;D ;D
