Dam I can't believe they broke it. I had a bad feelin. I guess I know to put EXTRA cardboard there next time. Can't believe the broken piece was still with it. That was/is one fine lower unit they done gone and broke >:( That ticks me off.

I really hate that MJ. :'(

I am very glad the "found" it though. ::)

The most amazing part of this whole situation is that . . . I'm so happy that the engine arrived that I could easily overlook the fact that motor is a month late, broken and you had to go pick it up 50+ miles away.

Just bolt one of these on and repair it next season. Shouldn't cost too much for someone to weld that back together. Who knows maybe BR can get them to refund the shipping.

EXACTLY what I was thinkin BS! Good call. I will make a call to our buddy Dennis tomorrow morning. MJ, if we get the shipping back you can use it to buy one of those contraptions BS posted and stick the rest back for repairs. I can give him he11 now! MJ has the motor! But don't worry, I'll still be nice :P

MJ - were there stickers that said, "DO NOT STACK"?

I thin they must have stacked something on it?? Let me know - that will part of my ammo. ;) Dad said they put stickers on all sides that said "DO NOT STACK"

Remember, I'm the one that has been known to fight for months over 12 bucks....I won't die...

So if a Super Model wearin' a thong and tassels happens to be on the scene, ol' CB just gonna walk away?... ::)...I don't think so....

I think after the truck-driver broke the plate off MJ's motor, he just slid it to the back of the truck and ''lost'' it hopin' it would just go away... ::)...

Re: Shipping

Like I said in a previous post, show up when least expected.

Glad to see that the motor did finally arrive.

Definately a weldable piece, but I suggest taking it to a reputable welding shop.
If arrangements are made ahead of time, the shop
could complete that job in less than 4 hours.
That is to do it correctly. 15 minutes to slap a $hit weld on.

Re: Shipping

Depends on the material.

If aluminum, then TIG. no danger of spatter.

but in all cases, I would still protect every open space from spatter, anywhere that it could work it's way into a moving part.

My comment about the 4 hour job, this would include
protection from spatter.

Well Thanks all!!

I am Camping for the summer now and I just got home since Monday.

Yes they can weld, but for now I am going to put my plastic Stingray Hydrofoil on it and hope it is fine??

I like the one BS posted but I have to wait till I get some money.

I am going to wait for the weld, as I want to remove the lower unit and drain oil and remove water pump, I don't want the heat to ruin any gaskets or the impeller.

Hope to be in the water tomorrow afternoon??

CB is to show in the am, I will have all ready to go! *Since it is another Yamaha all will just plug in and we ready to start.

I will have pic of all I hope to post tomorrow or Sat!

CB if we have it in the water tomorrow I will wear 2 tassels!! :-* *
