I test drove a V-20 center console with a 94 140 on it(large gearcase, finger port motor I believe). It had plenty of get up and go I thought, felt like a good match. You can always tweak that 140 a little if needs be to ;D.

i say don't use Hammer

Thanks Ferm i wondered if anyone had been on one with a 140 but the CC is lighter than the cuddy

Re: Skool's V20 Rebuild starts

I know a 140 is the way I am going on my V-20 CUDDY(when I finally can get to it). It currently has an 83 1.6L SEA-DRIVE on it(115 powerhead rated) and it will get on plane without issue, but top end is a bit lacking. If you consider though my sea-drive is around 100HP propshaft, a 140HP propshaft rated engine would do nicely.

i had a 140 looper on my cuddy at one time it would cruise about 26 top end 34 mph
