Re: Preferred Power?????
Sounds about right, my 85 cuddy with a 99 johnson 115 on a armstrong bracket was getting 36 with full tank and two guys and a lot of gear thru a pretty good chop. And I was not getting max rpms at the time. Plus I have to mount my engine lower on the bracket this spring as I could not trim up at all due to the motor mount height, was ventilating the prop in the chop. Oh yea full enclosure up to.

Re: Preferred Power?????
I will get a closer pic if you want, but you can see them on this forum post "auxillary power".
http://www.wellcraftv20.com/cgi-bin/...75;start=15#15 I don't want to bore you with the same pic here. |
Re: Preferred Power?????
looks great how do you like them on a 20 footer?
|
Re: Preferred Power?????
I like them a lot. I use them to change my angle of entry, get up on step faster, adjust for people standing or sitting off center and in the snotty stuff it really helps reduce spray back and hard slamming. I am getting older and the hard bouncing can take a day or two to fully recover. So the tabs help with that.
I typically run 20-30 miles offshore to fish and my home inlet is a little dicey at times as well. |
Re: Preferred Power?????
What port do you fish out of?

Re: Preferred Power?????
Sebastian Inlet, FL. * For Florida inlets, Boynton may be the only one rougher and that is debateable. At least they have West Palm and Miami to run in if Boynton is bad. I have to run 30+ miles North or South to hit Canaveral or Ft. Pierce.
It is a narrow man-made inlet that gets a lot of water running through it at times. *Sometimes we have to wait out the tides to run it. There are rough and rougher inlets all up and down the East Coast and a few out west, I know, but I only have this one to contend with. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3.../Th11/1471.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...h11/6-5890.jpg There are days and times when it is nice and flat, but give it an our or two and it will start rocking and rolling. East wind (most common here) with an outgoing tide is tough and for me on the weekends it always seems to work that way. |
Re: Preferred Power?????
Uh, don't we have another guy down around Sebastian somewhere?...Grand Teton?...Grand Prix?...Grand SOMETHIN'....HEY, Willy what's that dude's name...you swam his boat around for him...

Re: Preferred Power?????
You must be referring to that very extinguished man, technical wizard, fishing and boating guide the Grand Puhbah Senor Franco my close personal friend and confidant ;D

Re: Preferred Power?????
Gentleman, I can't tell you how humbled I am to have you two distinguished fellows heap this praise upon me!! I just happen to live in the fishing and boating Mecca of the east coast. Although it's like Mayberry with cable and internet, we have miles and miles and miles more of water to explore, Just try to keep it quiet!
