Re: New Dive Platform

In expect you to go by the painted line on the boat, But I thought you had a pro making it??

But I am not doing much better!! I went to look at the truck today and he has had it 2 weeks, I don't think I will have it for at least another week! >:(

Should have saved the $500 and went to a real body shop!! :-/

Well, Nate is a pro, and I knew the line was off slightly when I painted the bottom, but I forgot to mention it after he drilled the holes. But at the same time, maybe he should have picked up on it as well since he knows what he's doing and I dont ??? ???. Oh well, it's to late to fuss about it now. I'm still happy with it. His welds and design are great too. Gonna let him do the otherside as well. Hopefully in a few weeks "I'm Hoping".

Re: New Dive Platform

MJ, just came back from being outside. Wondering the same thing on what size to go with. Since the frame is well supported, I"m thinking I dont have to go so thick.

But also wondering if the starboard should be flush with the tubing frame or should it overhang a few inches.
Hmmmm ??? will have to sit and stair at it for a few days.

Dive ladder bracket that I need to bolt on once I decide if the starboard will be flush or overhanging the frame or not.

Charlie, you could do alot with yours since you have an I/O. he can go all the way around the outdrive and actually have a hatch the lifts up or down infront of the outdrive, so you can actually walk all the way around the motor/outdrive. Your price would be cheaper because you would be installing it, but I dont know how much it would cost to ship.

200 bucks per side. Not that bad when you compare the basic one's on E-Bay or West Marine that are starting off at $150.00 plus shipping.
I bought mine off of E-bay less then a year ago and paind 90 bucks I think, plus shipping. Thats for the typical size too. My custom platform is 32x26 and can even go wider if I want to with the starboard.

My basic platform I installed last season is for sale, but I have someone who is interested in it. If he decides not to buy, I'll offer it for sale here before I stick it on E-Bay.
Gotta sell the platform in order to help pay for the other custom platform for the other side. Hoping that having a custom made platform will bring up the value of the boat when the for sale sign goes on her.

Re: New Dive Platform

I know it's a matter of personal preference, but wet a piece of starboard and try to walk or move around on it. I've been on wet starboard when it can be wicked. You may want to rough it up a bit. Just my .02. Again, it's personal preference, but I wouldn't want a swim platform covered with it. I use an Armstrong ladder. They're safer for us old guys.
