Got my trolling motor mount in and got her mounted up...

I wanted to put a Minn Kota quick release mount on it since I may want the trolling motor off at times.

However, they want over 100 bones for it so you know what that meant...starboard to the rescue!! ;D

After all that quick release is just a piece of 3/4 starboard with a couple stainless pins. The pins I had already, but a quick trip to my starboard dealer rendered me a perfect sized piece of 3/4" for 10 bucks. 8)

I ripped it the correct size

I marked the holes and drilled them through the width of the material for the stainless rods to slide through:

After that I cut it out.

Here is the motor side bolted to the motor:

I cut and cleaned up the 5/16" stainless rods :

Here is the fnished product. The pins go through and are very snug. They have stainless keepers on the inside of the mount. All I have to do is pull em and presto, the motor is off. ;D

Lets see.....brand new RipTide 70# 3X steering motor for 125 bones
free mount....
$10 starboard...

I came out a "lil" ahead. 8)

Thanks again for the hookup Parrot Head. ;)

McFly!! I think his name should be changed to McGiver.

I think Stink could build a boat using matches, a plastic soda bottle
and a little mulch. ;) ;) ;D

Thanks guys!

parishht, you crazy! ::)

I am excited about the 3x steering too, RAP. Ive never run one of them. I was just afraid with the gear driven head that it might be hard to steer when under power. Is that not the case? :-/

Re: Starboard battery box anyone??

Nope...not difficult to steer at all...and you'll find out quick; a little goes a long way ... I stood w/the handle between my knees most time and just touch it L or R ...very responsive ...leaves hands free to play w/stuff ::) ...
