MJ, smile, otherwise you'll look like Charlie...then the nurses will really be something. I know it sucks being there, but they have your best intrest in mind. Grin and bear it and we'll be joking about it at Hammers in a few weeks ;)

Re: Live from Cape Cod Hospital!!

I had a red letter in the front of my charts for the nurses, it read HOSTILE PATIENT. But it wasn't a good thing when I was in the hospital. I had been in a car wreck that was bad enough the E.R. doctors told me to say goodbye to my family, it would be my last chance. But here I am today, still as grumpy as ever.
I feel your pain with the nurses too. The last time I was in was to have the rods in my left femur replaced(they broke in half at 11 months out). The nurses came in and were supporting my hip and trying to pull it outward, I got hostile needless to say. The head nurse came in and got nasty with me saying this is what had to be done for somebody who had just had a hip replacement. I got COMPLETELY PISSED and told them I didn't have a hip replacement, but that I had a hardware replacement. We argued, and then she actually read my chart. Then I asked for pain meds because the MORPHINE wasn't working. I had the bracelet on clearly saying I was allergic to VICODIN, so what do you think she brought me >:(. Before it was said and done they wouldn't even walk past my room.

So look on the bright side, it could always be worse. And you don't want to hear about my catheter story :o.

Hey Ferm I'm always ready for a good catheter story!

By the way I forgot to mention earlier that the suppositories the nurses bring are refrigerated to keep 'em firm. *There are usually a few in the freezer just for "special" patients.

Also, I have it on good authority that MJ's nurse is
Ben Dover RN.

All I have to say its a good thing I know my own meds and the way my body works!!

Left to these people they would kill you over night!!

Any who the doc came in last night and said that if they double the IV last night and this morning that my levels will be higher then they need to be and I be fine to go home in the morning if I promise to stay off the foot!

Well at this point I promise to be his lover if it would get me home!
So it looks like I am going home by noon today!! :D

My wife already yelling at me cause Iwas making arrangements with CB to go see him this week end :o Thats not 3 weeks off your feet she said!!
I said what, I have to use crutches to go to truck, and I have to drive to the doc next monday any way?

I said all I do is set the curz control and go just need to break :o and I can do that with my left foot ;)

Well the good new is that I have no truck, cause I droped it off at the body shop last week so they could fix while I was being fixed, so I have nothing to get away in right now.

Besides its not like CB and I are going to have sex or anything!! :-*

O well I am going to do my best to sit still, not going to be easy!! but I know I have to do it!!

Next time I post I hope to be doing it staring at the V thur the window!! ;D

Re: Live from Cape Cod Hospital!!

Well since I'm sure everybody here knows what a catheter is. And the ones they put in to stay in for awhile have a baloon in the end of them that is filled with liquid to keep it from pulling out. Well imagine having this tube taped tightly to the inside of your leg pulling it downward towards your foot. Now imagine looking at some of the W.E.T. girls like this, :o. The tape doesn't let things move very well at all. And as though this wasn't bad enough. When they removed it, they didn't get all the liquid out of the baloon. And let's just say they used the grip and rip method to get it out >:(. So I can say I know what giving birth is like, with blood and all.
