I spent the weekend salvaging boats. Frustration levels are at an all time high everywhere you go. I got to see first hand the new inlets through Mantoloking. Houses in the middle of the bay, debris everywhere. More and more looting. More and more military moving in. Still lots of areas with no power. I cant wait for things to get a little more normal.

Checking in.. We're ok sorta... several trees knocked down at the new house, no power, no phone, no internet, no heat, running on my generator one out of four hours. Neighbors house across the street had an add-on Florida room made of alum. It lifted off the rear of her house, flew over her roof, (bi-level house) severed the primary wire on the utility pole in front of my house and landed about 30+ feet up in one of our trees. There's a 30-40 long burn mark in my lawn from the 6400 volt primary wire. Utility poles up and down the street are snapped like twigs. 5 poles in a row in front of the high school snapped off about 3 blocks away from me. Lots of trees gone, especially it seems, the pine trees. Neighbors Audi became a pillow for a falling pine tree.. total loss.. My 21 footer rode out the storm on her trailer with zero damage. The 20 footer also suffered no damage other than she's about 40 feet from where she was tied down on her trailer. We moved back to the old house earlier today since it had power restored to it so at least we have lights, heat, and internet back again.

Willy, I am so sorry to hear about Senior Bert. If you are going to salvage her and need any help you have my phone number. Use it.

Lumber, sorry to hear about your brother, glad you're ok.

BRielly, Sorry for your loss also.

Everyone,... thank God no one was hurt and all families are safe... that's the most important thing.

We just got power back (and cable) in my neighborhood this evening! Hopefully it stays on. At least 3 people I work with lost their homes and another friend still has a tree leaning on their house that they cant afford to have removed. I feel very fortunate that our tree fell away from the house. There have been lots of reports of looting, ripoffs, fights at gas stations, etc. but I was amazed at the generosity of our community when we went to donate at the shelter yesterday. There were literally 5 school buses filled with clothes, blankets and other items that were donated and that was at just one of the shelters. Its was nice to see since the news stations mostly like to focus on the negatives.

At this point I'm still waiting on the marina to put my boat back on the blocks. The other boats that were surrounding it have been move so hopefully I'm next. With the impending noreaster its in a pretty bad spot if the water rises again. Check out the pics.

Hi everyone I'm glad to see everyone is ok. Ihave been thinking about all the Staten Island and Jersey guys here, i know you all had it bad. I had a 95 ft tree fall next to my house and a 2 ft wide branch and others is now in my 2nd floor bedroom. i had no idea i had such wildlife by my house! i hope the animals are not all cramped as they are all climbing up the tree and now nesting in my bedroom. It's like an episode of wild kingdom. Wife and kids are fine sooooo i,m going to laugh about its best for my health !!!
