It is a thrill for people to catch fish on your boat.

Re: Norton Snagger Fishing Team

I have taken people out and o nothing but watch and help with the fish and stuff.

I really like taking people out!! Makes you fell good you can take people out, and let them do something they normally can't. ;)

Re: Norton Snagger Fishing Team

Yeah, MJ...I've taken a guy and his brother out a couple of times lately...both LOVE to fish...this guy just moved back home after livin' in New Orleans for 30 or so years and chasin' reds and trout...got him on his 1st striper and he's hooked...I handed all bent rods to them ;) ... I get to do it all the time ... it was a MAJOR deal for them ... 8) ...

That's pretty funny you say that...just bein' in a big white boat rigged for striper-fishin' makes ya LOOK like ya know what yer doin'... sometimes I'm sittin' there CATCHIN' NOTHIN', but draw a crowd of other boats cause of the "V" ;D ...

Re: Norton Snagger Fishing Team

See REEL, ya look like ya know what your doing. We have two favorites round these parts. One is the bent pole sonar = easy way to find fish. The other is the guys who ride around w/ a big bag of popcorn. Ride away from the fish and deploy the popcorn, gets the birds workin reel good and then every boat within five miles converges on nothin'. Dirty trick if I ever heard of one. ;)

Re: Norton Snagger Fishing Team

That popcorn trick is a good one, I'll have to remember that one.

I lucked out about 12 years ago, a guy who used to be a charter capt. gave me a bunch of numbers off of the SE NC coast. The only other people I usually see are other charter boats, and they don't care what I'm up to.

Re: Norton Snagger Fishing Team

Watching others catch fish is enjoyable. Last year my son and I got to go out on a short trip, not much biting but when my rod bent over and I grabed it I know it was worth catching. I handed the rod to my son and told him to pull it in while I watched his rod. He pulled in the 19" flounder that I posted with his picture. Boy that really made his day. That will be a day we will both remember for a while.

He wants to go out every time I mention fishing. Just wish I had more time to take him. The days I get to go he is in school and most of the time when he's not in school I have to work. :'( Am going to try harder this year.

What better way to rub it in, taking your title and in your boat. ;D

I am looking forward to the day we get to fish together whether it be during the tourney or not. ;)

Re: Norton Snagger Fishing Team

Turbo, we'll make it happen this spring. Just have to get er' done. ;D

I had a few really good years where my son wouldn't hear of the boat leaving without him. He caught more fish by age 10 than many will ever catch. At 11 he's developing other intrests. :( Have to try and get him back on the right path this spring.

Re: Norton Snagger Fishing Team

Slot, I haven't "popcorned'' a hole in years...til just the other day...we had snuck in on some feedin' fish, birds, the whole thing w/a full set (8 lines) , when this guy roars in, cut right in front of us and starts pitchin' >:( ... runs the fish and all away...so we eased away and offloaded some cheetos just far enough he had to crank up to get to 'em...last we saw he was pitchin' the hell outta those cheetos ;D ;D ...

I love it RAP, but I've got to stop laughing so loud at work...people are starting to wonder, ;D *Serves the bass turd right for cuttin in on ya. *

Turbo, kids these days have so much more trouble available to them. *Don't know what to tell ya man. *At this point mine are home schooled and it has its advantages, but it goes both ways. *They are "sheltered" from a lot and they will have to learn about the real world at some point in time ???

I am up against the clock as well in regards to my kids, they are 10, 8, and 5. Spending as much time as I can with em now cause in 6 yrs. the oldest will be driving.

Spend every minute you can with them, thats the best defense against the evils of the world.

That is unless you spend time smoking dope with them, then stay away from them so they can find someone positive.

Re: Norton Snagger Fishing Team

You got that right, randlemanboater ... ;) ...spend as much time as you can and be involved w/ their school ... I'm on the advisory-board at my girls' high school and have always known their teachers/principals/coaches since elementary...not braggin' but it seems to be workin' pretty well so far ... so far anyway ::) ...

me on a school advisory board ::) ... thinkin' about my academic career, that's pretty ironic if not outright ridiculous LOL !! ... :-X ...

Re: Norton Snagger Fishing Team

You just do the best you can!! After that its up to them!!

You have the richest people in the world that have the worst kids around, and you have some of the poorest that are the best around. and vise versa!!

Just teach right from wrong, and then they are in charge! Let them figure it out from there!

Right, MJ...at some point, it's up to them...I'm gettin' there w/ my two girls and it's a tough transition :-/ specially w/ the boy thing ::) ...

RAP. You gotta do what I used to do. Anytime my daughter had a boy coming to the house, I used that time to lay out a few handguns on the kitchen table for cleaning. ;) 8)

LMAOFF!! ... had a similar idea; sittin' in the rocker by a big, blazin' fire, cleanin' one of my shotguns and NEVER smilin' ...considered doin' it nekkid, so's he'd get message loud and clear that I'm crazy as a monkey on meth ;) ...

With me they all know I'm armed, most believe I'm semi certifiable to begin with. So what has been working so far is to stand there, shake their hand and stare straight into their eyes for a second or two.
They usually wilt or turn away pretty quick.
It is a dominance thing like a dog peeing on the tree 8)

How about telling them while you are holding a 45 in your hands, "I got no problem going back to prison".

Blue_Runner 01-22-2007 04:54 PM

Re: Norton Snagger Fishing Team

Tell them you've already had 2 assault with deadly weapons charges and one more is automatic prison time - so you plan on making the third one count ;)

A buddy of mine who's retired now used the gun cleaning bit, except he would use an M-16 for his prop. And on top of that, he WAS crazy. Retired and went to Iraq for 2 years, training the police over there.
