I almost made a post to that thread to bring it back to the top, but then thought to leave the integrity of the thread as it was...and leave it at its place as the oldest thread.

Did a litttle digging around and its neat to see some of the original members :), and those who appear to be gone :( It's hard to believe that we've been posting here for almost 4 years.

Todays trivia question....Who was the first member?

Airslot

I gotta look again . . . but I think it was "Labii" Louis Burney. CB and MJ were about a day after and CB was first to post. Labii hasn't been around too much . . . for the newer members . . . Labii is responsible for most of the v20 catalogs in the Gallery and contacting Lee Wangsted from Boating World Magazine . . . Reel's 15 Minutes of fame!!

P.S. - If anyone goes back and finds the thread . . . please forgive me. I kinda threw a tantrum when a lot of the research I did i.e. Bay of Pigs v20 photo, contact with John Deknatel (c. raymond hunt) and military v20 information didn't end up in the article. Lee also incorrectly credited Harry Schoell for the V20 Design.

Yeah, in the 16th minute it was all over...specially when everybody realized there was no mention of V20.com in the article :'( ... but here's the thing...we got what we got and I'm sure it spread the word even wider of what great boats these are ... publicity like that in a national publication goes a long way ...it's Lee's article and he knows what his limitations are in terms of space and content ...from our side of the fence, we do not know those things, so hopefully we can be happy for what we did get through the Boating World article...hate it that your research, Bigshrimpin' was not published, but it was really good stuff seeing it here... ;) 8) ...I remember it stirred up a lotta talk 8) ...

The First post which was CB's is now locked, at the request of some gods.

Didn't want someone to post and bring it back to the top.

Want to keep it as history to the board! ;)

Labii joined Mar 3rd, 2003, 6:07am, making him member #2 best I can figure.

Bigshrimpin, thanks for the site. It's been a great ride so far.
