Re: Live from Cape Cod Hospital!!

I am here, I was very tired yesterday for some reason and slept alot.

Last night at about 11:30 pm my sugar dropped and I was heading to coma time!! *Called the nurse and they brought me some juice and Rice crispys to eat and it was fine. meds they are giving me can be hard on your veins and my IV was hurting bad, to the point it was burning.
The nurse said she was coming to change it but never did, what a surprise.....Well the next shift they came on and I told the nurse that it was hurting and she said OK I will be back, I said it needs to be fixed before 4 am when they want to start the next IV!!

Well at 4 am they came in to start the IV and it was the nurse I told earlier, I said they never change they IV??
She said I am going to flush it and we will see how it goes, *I said it hurts right now its not right, she says we just going to try...

I have been a very quite patient so far and they ail love me till this moment, I looked at her with my Tony Soprano face and said What part don't you under stand? *You are not putting a dam thing *in me till this is fixed!! And I was loud!!

Another nurse came in and asked me whats going on while they other one was saying I need not yell at her.

I told the new girl what happened and I got all new IV and all is well now!

Then the I went back to sleep and just woke up.

Man I can't wait to go home and get a Wendy's Sausage egg and cheese muffin!! ;D

I'm surprised you held your ground MJ - NOT!

Way to keep em straight big guy! Let them know that they can do whatever they want if you go into a coma but as long as you're awake you can APPROVE or REJECT anything they try to stick in ya!

Best of luck on the healing!

Good for you MJ. Sometimes patients need to stand up for themselves to get any continuity of care. But one word of caution... Remember that the doctors may decide whether or not a patient needs a catheter... but the nurse decides which size. :-X

Not sure why your ther but its good to hear its going good and thoughts go out to ya. my wife just gave birth late December and all the nurses where great except for this one nurse who was old and grumpy.
