All right made it back safe from the great escapde, we spent Friday night in the marina in Atlantic City, beautiful view of the city from there and had great time, met a few cuties in the resturant there and had a great dinner, went back to the sail boat had a few more drinks and that is where we would be sleeping the next two nights, a 1987 O'Day 35 footer sloop. Great shape, our friend bought in Maryland on the Chesapeak and was sailing it back a bit at a time. Left AC saturday mourning just after dawn cleared the harbor and sailed hard with a mostly 5-10 out of the north by north east for a few hours. After that things turned a little rough. The winds picked up hard coming straight out of the north, no more sails if we wanted to get back sunday like we all needed to do. 6-8 foot seas for the next six to eight hours, with an occassional big roller just to make it interesting. Made it to Manasqaun Inlet around five thirty and anchored up at the Brielle Yacht Club. My God the boats there, the women there. Money does have its advantages.
Had a great dinner at the resturant there, I drank a little bit, then the party really started at the bar and the Jack Daniels Girls were there for a promotion. Got a hat, and yes Ozzie that is all 8) Left at dawn on Sunday had to motor all the way due to time contraints, so not much sailing but a good time and I learned a little about sailing which I really like and also learned that I don't get sea sick even after two nights of heavy drinking and eating and good seas non stop. Actually enjoyed it. The company was great. Now for the bad news, left my camera in the trunk of the fellows car that was driving, it and some other personals fell out when transferring gear. Made port in Great Kills Staten Island yesterday about two and had a nice lunch on the boat and helped get everything ready and closed up on the mooring. Came home in time for a party here for the Soprano's finale and then showed the CEO how invigorating the salt air can be after three days at sea Thats all the news fit to print 8) |
