Re: Cheap V-20 project
He had a for sale sign on it for $4500 as a running boat. It was one of those nice from a far, but far from nice deals to me. It really didn't look that good when you got up close to it. But my main concern was transom flex and all of the hairline cracks in the inner transom. Hopefully the new owner isn't as discriminating as me. But then again I want to go fish on a reef, NOT MAKE A REEF!

Re: Cheap V-20 project
I know I'm going back to page one of this post, but sometimes I'm a little slow. Foam under the floor was mention and it seems everone is saying Wellcraft didn't start putting foam under the floor until late '70s - early '80s ish... My boat is a 1971 and this is what I found while removing the rot from the transom
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y19...J/DSC00274.jpg I'm not sure if that's Wellcraft's work or someone's personal handywork, but it appears to go the length of the floor between (but only between the stringers). I'll know for sure once the inner liner is out. |
Re: Cheap V-20 project

Make sure you take many pictures and let us see what she gots in there!! I have a 75 and was always told there was nothing until they raised the decks in the late 70's?? |
