Re: Pulpit install / assembly...
If the deck pipe hole is not covered by the pulpit,
why not cut the flange on the deck pipe. So instead of a circle, the flange looks like a D. |
Re: Pulpit install / assembly...
Hey, thats not a bad idea, and definately look custom. My concern right now is that by butting something against the pulpit I'm leaving myself open to moisture intrusion in the deck. Thats why I have been thinking of repairing the hole and drilling a new one. The old hole is currently sealed on the edges with 4200 as a temporary safety.

Re: Pulpit install / assembly...
Starboard cut like D flat edge 45* like the the pulpit, this will allow the edge to slip under theedge of the plupit a little, loys of 5200 and it will never leak!
|
Re: Pulpit install / assembly...
Got starboard?
I do. ;D Hope to work on it tomorrow some, but will certainly be finished by Sunday at the very latest. |
Re: Pulpit install / assembly...

Re: Pulpit install / assembly...
Quick update...after mowing the lawn and having to trim around the V, lack of use you know, I cut my "D" shaped starboard. It came out quite nicely. Wouldn't you know it that my 1-7/8" holesaw is hiding from me. I may have to rotozip this one.

Re: Pulpit install / assembly...

If its proof ya want, then feast your eyes on these...
All done, finished, and complete... http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e4...stall002-5.jpg And because the shackles and thimbled rope ends wont pass throught the smaller deck pipe, I taught myself a new knot, the chain splice... http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e4...stall003-4.jpg So, hows the for, uh, proof ;D |

Re: Pulpit install / assembly...
Well, I figured I dust off this old thread here. ;D
Airslot finished his pulpit sometime ago. Not to be called a slacker, I decided to buy this off of E-Bay and finally get my anchor finished and mounted. http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...r/DSC02722.jpg |
Re: Pulpit install / assembly...

Re: Pulpit install / assembly...

Re: Pulpit install / assembly...
Great job on the pulpit, Hammer...good to have ya back in full form :-* ... ya had me worried there for a while :-[ ...
Slot & Hammer...can ya'll deploy/retrieve those things from the bow hatch or do ya have to get on top? ... not that "on top's" a bad place to be ;D ;D ... heck, on bottom's not bad either come to think of it 8) ... |
Re: Pulpit install / assembly...
Reel, I've deployed, retieved mine while standing in the hatch every time. *Only time I have to go forward is if I have to "rebend" the snagger tines :o *It's also built well enought to power out of the wreck, or, in one instance I ended up busting off my chain / anchor....so....its obviously heavy enough.
Can you tell that I'm pleased w/ my pukpit ::) |
Re: Pulpit install / assembly...
Thanks REEL, glad to be back as well. I've repented all of my sins and evil thoughts about going to Bayliner.com. ;D ;D ;D ;D
|
Re: Pulpit install / assembly...
Yep that was CB's Idea from the get go!! I never have to get up top for the anchor, all done from the floor in front.
