Re: Specs
Note the pretty red stripe along the entire length of the tubeing so as to readily be able to identify the correct materials used.
|
Re: Specs
For the nominal price of *$7.54 a foot for 1 1/2 and $3.20*for 5/8. Thank you very much >:(
Oh 7% sales tax will be expected |
Re: Specs
Oh and believe it or not that was a deal! :P
|
Re: Specs
Yea I had a bit of a sticker shock when I did mine also!! But you are doing it right the first time you you are saving money!
|
Re: Specs
The cost didn't phase me , it was the price per foot.
|
Re: Specs
Put some hangers in both sides of the boat and the rear. The original ones were no longer there.

Re: Specs
Glued them in about every 16 inches with fast cure 5200.
http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w...Picture087.jpg The hangers are 2 1/2 '' pvc that were cut 1" and ruffed up where the 5200 would stick better. |
Re: Specs
How did you glue them in there??
|
Re: Specs
The fast cure was so sticky I could have probably got away without duct tapeing them in place, love this stuff.
More to do, more to do. |
Re: Specs
tsubaki...looks like yer gonna splash 'er soon ;D ... whatcha gotta do B4 ya can splash??... 8) ...
|
Re: Specs
I need to add some new ones also. Another project will it ever end??
Thanks for the tip!! I got a bad foot, can anyone come do it for me? ;) ;D |
Re: Specs
MJ, I'm sure one of them guys will be glad to throw you in the boat. You will be spending most of your time on your back anyway. Oh, and you'll find out 2" is too small and 3" is too big. Buy a 10' piece of electrical pvc and cut with a miter or chop saw.
Reel, Daddy was on me yesterday to finish it enough to put it in the water. Quessing a couple of weeks. What to do is everything:steering, gauges, controls,(all)electrical, mount motor, hell I ain't even put the numbers on yet. |
Re: Specs
Well all my stuff is run and done, But I have a lot tied to the steering cable to hold up nice.
But I have to replace the rope lights and That will be perfect, and as needed I will move or add wires to it over time. |
Re: Specs
I'm sure you can knotch and glue. However it will be time consuming. You'll have to prop it up instead of duct tapeing it.
|

Re: Specs

:D |

Re: Specs
Was just now cutting the Starboard and my neighbor came up and said "if you got any leftover......" (I quickly replied) "no,ain't gonna have any leftover, gonna use it all" and smiled.
He did to. |
Re: Specs
I was going to mount to the dash, then I hate to make more holes? But I like it on the throttle, so what I did was tape it in a few places and decided I liked it on the throttle arm, I used a wire tie and its perfect, works almost like a stock one! ;D
I am going to pick up another one soon, I hate having to get in and out the boat to tilt up and down, going to mout this one on the motor is self or transom? |
Re: Specs
This is what you need to cut Starboard
http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w...3/skillsaw.jpg I (mostly) followed the instructions while ruff cutting the floor hatches and cuddy panels. When it got to the fine work of fitting out of lazyness got the battery saw out. This thing cuts long, fine, etc, better than anything else. The fact that it's low rpm does the trick. |
Re: Specs
Goddamn you photobucket
Sorry guys it's getting worst Had to get my wife to make it work. |
Re: Specs
My table saw was perfect!! Its the Jig saw were it gets nasty, doesn't cut fast enough.
|
Re: Specs
DELAYS, DELAYS.
Told Reel possibly a couple of weeks before splashdown, well that didn't happen. While starting to reassemble steering and other stuff, found the backboard to the steering to be too weak to support it. So I had to tear it out and replace it. http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w...Picture103.jpg And not to meantion another excuse was ts Barry. |
Re: Specs
Well at least I'm still progressing.
Got the tanks installed but not attached to the floor yet. http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w...Picture099.jpg |
Re: Specs
And did like Reel and MJ said by moving the gas vent to above the rubrail.
http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w...Picture104.jpg In the original vent location, instead of filling the hole I just put a new one in. Hell $6 each side is easier and cheaper than fixing the holes. ;) |
Re: Specs
Some pics so far.
http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w...Picture098.jpg http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w...Picture100.jpg http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w...Picture101.jpg No that red oxide color isn't staying on the glove box. Fred brought it over with some bimini hardware. That's the original box, belive it or not! Oh and the seats aren't for that boat. http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w...Picture102.jpg |
Re: Specs
I have come to the realization that I'm not going to complete it the way I want, so I'm just going to get it to the point of "useable" to then see what changes I'll need to do.
"Splashdown" will be redefined as "test run", when that happens. |

WOW, tsubaki!!...you makin' some reel headway on yer V ;) ...lookin' good, Man!! Only thing I'm a little concerned about is tight gaps around floor hatches...this stuff E X P A N D S in hot weather, and if ya don't leave a lil' wiggle-room it'll make it difficult to lift those hatch-lids ... I know, I know...generally tight gaps ARE good ;) ... |
Re: Specs
you got the hard stuff done, thats all you need!!
Took me like 7 years to get mine to were it is today, just do a little every year, when the fish get here stop and wait till the fall & spring for repairs! floor covers leave about 1/8 to 3/16 gap all the way around, thats pleanty of room for the expansion! |
Re: Specs
Gappage, Man!!...ya need some GAPPAGE!! ;D ...
|
Re: Specs
I didn't even think about expansion and contraction of that stuff. Well it was 97* yesterday and from what it remember it was about 85* when I took the pictures.
When I cut it, I felt that all the pieces were too small. I'll keep an eye on it, at least I can still cut some more off. ;D |

Good news is you sized 'em HOT ;) ... so ya oughtta be OTAY BUCKWHEAT!! ... |
Re: Specs
Looking for an easy place to mount the water seperator, may have found it.
http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w...Picture159.jpg |
Re: Specs
Cutting a 4'' square piece of stainless and drilling holes for mounting.
http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w...Picture161.jpg http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w...Picture160.jpg |
Re: Specs
Mount it directly over the transom bolts (leaveing the nuts in place) provides air flow and more room around for later, if the filter gets stuck.
|
Re: Specs
Some reason this past week the doldrums set in, Daddy said it's just burnout working on these pieces of chit (we are working on three boats at the same time). Well a little breeze seems to have picked up and I seem to be moveing again.
|
Re: Specs
Did cut some more Starboard.
