He did see that a small fraction of people were getting out of hand and eventually asked them to be peaceful, however he wasn't required to. Pelosi was 100% responsible for not having adequate security at the Capitol on Nov 6 - Period. It’s very reasonable to think that it was purposeful, given her extreme political dishonesty, demonstrated over decades.

That doesn’t excuse the violence of a very small percentage of the demonstrators, but it makes her very much culpable with respect to the police injuries as well as those of the protestors, including the death of the unarmed woman.

I’m well read on the entire episode - and none of its viable excuse for all trumps involvement and guilt .
