Re: I've been holding out...
man. the freaks are taking over. i cant get away from them. i just left one thread thoroughly disgusted. now i come here and... my god, i think i am now officialy footophobic. sicko's. one more person pm me pics of feet and i'm gonna lose it! back to the boat seat...
looks good blue. i got an idea, you could cut two pieces of starboard that mount flush (peprpindicular) to the seat back. shape them so that they will hug ur splashwell and 'lock' the seat from sliding forward. you could make them fit beside ur fuel tank and run all the wat to the transom. in the splashwell make them level and just the right hieght to set a cooler on. couple of eye hooks and bungee down cooler! completely removable for trailering and two birds with one foot. stone, i mean stone! |
Re: I've been holding out...
oh yeah, skoolz, dont forget to remove those seats before trailering. they look better in the boat than they do in my windshield!

Re: I've been holding out...
Why not just attach a piece of Starboard Permanently to the back of the seat with a couple of standoffs. The piece should be the same size and shape of the splashboard you currently have the rod holders on. When you slide the splashboard out to install the seat, the seat with Starboard attached will slide into the same tracks in it's place. That should keep the seat from sliding on you. You can also use pieces of pipe insulation on the base at the floor to prevent any marking of your deck. 8)

Are you awake already!!

Re: I've been holding out...
the seat and bracket will trailer fine. motor will be between the brackets. just remember to move the cooler.

Re: I've been holding out...
CB great ideas - one problem though. I need to be able to easily slide the seat forward out of the way in order to access the primer ball at startup. If it weren't for that I'd definitely go that route.
About the tracks you mentioned. I don't know if you noticed but those are stainless steel. From the factory they come in plastic, which I didn't trust for my rod holders sake. I had a guy make these out of stainless for me using the original as a model. They turned out great! I just need 2 more now to replace the crappy plastic tracks that the cuddy door slides on. You can see them here. Someone did some damage to one already and used some epoxy to fix. My daughter Ella...see the plastic tracks? These were just like the ones that holds the piece of starboard in the spashwell: http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d7...S2010015-1.jpg My niece Raegan... http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d7...y/S2010016.jpg |
