Re: rust on the steering arm

Well I been doing some searches online and found a place where I can purchase a steering arm made of stainless steel. The guy gave me a price of $425.00 plus shipping & handling. Does this price seem reasonable or is the business trying to "give me the business" *???

I do like the fact that it is indeed SS but if I could locate one cheaper somewhere that would be a plus.

I know what you mean about the a$$ pain! I suppose the part being SS means that you buy it once and never worry about rust/corrosion ever again. This is one I will have to ponder on and discuss with the Admiral, she OK's what I can buy! ::)

Flounder,

I have not one clue as to if that one on ebay would fit the 175 Johnson or not. My model # is J175TLCTD and the serial # is J5853159 so who knows if that one on Ebay would fit. I noticed you also have the 175 Johnson and is your model the same as mine? Mine is a 1983.
