Fauci followed the SCIENCE of COVID and as the data came in he changed the messaging accordingly. The news did the same.

However, trump and his mocking of masks and continued Republican disinformation has led trump supporters to more commonly avoid masks and vaccine than Biden supporters .
So hospital records now confirm counties of voters who mostly voted trump are DYING from Covid at 2-3 times the rate of Biden voters.

Well, while I dispute your figures, offhand I'd say the reason is that they are dying to protect their freedom. You know, that thing that the Democrats are trying to take away from us little by little. I'd call them patriots. Dying for what they believe in, namely the RIGHT to self choice.
