These posts are not boring us at all. They do, however, make me feel inadequate. I could not even begin to do the stuff you are doing to the motor. Nice work.

Thanks Guys

Some updates, I successfully have the motor completely in pieces, I was going to experiment with the Media/Soda blasting myself. I did not it a messy job period, I dropped the parts off to shop last week, decided to use a new shop because of a cheaper price, huge mistake the new shop did not do a professional job period. I will never use him again.
I will post pictures clearly showing the paint he miss, parts not cleaned properly.
I will have to finish the job myself, the rest of the parts are off to my previously used shop which I am very happy using in the past, but a little more expensive. Cheaper is not always better I guess ...
I am educating myself on primers and paints and found a wonderful web site which in my opinion is very intuitive for a rookie like me. http://www.supermarinepaint.com

Just remember to use a ZINC CHROMATE or ZINCROM(the green colored stuff) etching primer on the lower unit and mid section, or anything in direct saltwater contact. The etching primer will help the paint adhere MUCh better than most any other primer can. And do not get it inside of the lower unit where the oil is or in the crankcase. It is an excellent primer, but oil will take it right off. I used it on a propshaft support before and got it on the inside portion of it and fluid turned to milk after just a few days. The primer came off and emulsified in the gear oil. Flushed it out and all was well afterwards. I figure if the stuff is good enough for aviation and is mandated by the FAA, then it must be good enough for a boat.

Update

Media Blasting I paid for sucks! I will clean up all the parts myself so much for me being lazy, no luck paying to get stuff done I guess.
I shot the cowling and lower pans last weekend with INTERLUX Brightside One-Part Polyurethane with Teflon from West Marine.
One amazing paint in my opinion, so good I will mount this on my Boat and pull the ones on my running engine.
I will post pictures later as I progress along. I took a self impose break from all this stuff and planted a garden which was no fun but relaxing.

I found a replacement power head (1/2) on Ebay minus all the corrosion show previously here are the new photos of the power assembled with all sorts of old bolts to protect the treads, Its now in my original media blasting shop then I will have each cylinder honed.
As for the MID and LU they are all zinc primed ready to paint.
