Wow!!...you ARE quite the historian to be aware of such a little-known fact...:nice: |
Willy, Kittyhawk is one of the high spots on the island and there are some nice places for sale there now. A close friend of mine lives on the soundside there. The sound side is a little more protected from the ocean tides and winds. Theres probley plenty of work for you there. If you want to live on the mainland Currituck is north and very close by, just across the sound bridge. Ocracoke is my favorite spot because of its history, natural beauty and pristine beaches. The people are nice and its very relaxing there. Everything is done at a much slower pace there . Theres no crime there since you can only leave by boat or ferry service so not much work for ya there unless you change professions. If I could pick a spot to retire it would definately be Ocracoke though. Great fishing, beautiful water and beaches, good food and nice folks. If you've never been to Ocracoke you should definately take a trip down there! Manteo is another place you might want ta check out. Its a little more protected and surrounded by water. Theres probley some job opportunities there also.

I got yer number Big Boy...livin ON the water ain't so important as livin' NEAR it...as you described w/your setup, just a few minutes from the dry-stack and you're sailin'!!... |
True that
Thats street lingo you know |
Oh and Franco called me last night and gave a full lesson on how to talk like a Carolina boy, so I am prepared. I know all the slang so I won't get confused when talking with yall
|
I reckon he's fixin' to start eatin' grits too!
And that good ol' EASTERN NC STYLE BBQ! |
First and foremost we gotta teach him how to talk. Gonna have to SLOOOOOOW IT DOOOOWN, use the word "ain't" in at least every other sentence and find good uses for words like "reckon" and "yonder".
Here is your first lesson: "Well fellers, the fish ain't a bitin rite here. I reckon we should try over yonder." :hide: |
