Re: 1988 V20 with 225 Honda
Yeah, that's the one I's thinkin' about, too ...that HO might be TOO heavy ... if Bombardier had the 150-200 series out when my ol' Rude gave it up, there'd probably be one on my boat instead of the Honda, so I'm REALLY interested in how yours does ;) 8) ...

Re: 1988 V20 with 225 Honda
Hi Guys,
OK - here's what happened: Couldn't go out to the gulf (too rough), so I had to settle for the Wacklawaha (not sure how to spell that)River - tide was very low - river is very small. Turned the key - didn't even know the motor was running (quieter than my Honda). No smoke! Shifted smoothly into both gears. Tilted the engine up and proceeded to get into deeper water. Hit the throttle - the boat leaped into plane in a couple of seconds. Trimmed the engine up - got 48 mph and 5600 rpm. Had 2 people in the boat (inc. me) 3/4 tank of gas. Handled beautifully - very pleased. Will send pix soon. Prop is a 14.8X17 aluminum. |
Re: 1988 V20 with 225 Honda

Re: 1988 V20 with 225 Honda
I will send more specs if I get out tomorrow - weather is changing.
I bought my Etec from a marina in St Petersberg. Husband and wife company - very good service. He is very knowlegable about boat and motors. I asked him if I should get the big big block - he said " that 200 V60 small block was made for boats specifically like the V20". He loved the way it handled and performed. I have hydraulic steering on it. It is a great rig !! |
Re: 1988 V20 with 225 Honda
Jackman ,watch out behind ya,....looks like a 30 ft. anaconda sneakin' up :o Beautiful boat/motor. I like my 150 OceanRunner but I love that E-tech
|
Re: 1988 V20 with 225 Honda
You're right, that does look like an anaconda !
Fishing trip got cancelled for today. Looks like the weather is going to be bad for the rest of the week :-( |
