Re: COPS
Hey Willy,
3 more working days left? Hope all was quiet the last 2. Did you decide on you boat purchase or are you waiting until after retirement? |
Re: COPS
Still debating brother, with myself.
Got to work midnights tonight and then three next week. |
Re: COPS
And Franco is that the only one left :o

Re: COPS

|
Re: COPS
Your smiling face is all it takes brother :-*
Two days left, it was three but I decided f@ck them I will work Saturday and Sunday with my guys and I'm out of there 8) |
Re: COPS
That's the spirit WILLY!!!!!!
I'm really suprised that they are letting you out on the street at all. When my old partner had a month left they told him to turn in all his stuff and just hang out. They knew that the normal volume of citizen complaints would go through the roof if he was out dealing with the public. |
Re: COPS
Nah, the powers that be there are glad to see me go, I was never on the Hoover team the town manager and the new chief have in place. All the little hooverettes are happy to see me go, creates space for them to jockey closer to the chiefs crack.
There is something very satisfying about getting out of a deterioating place knowing that have not kissed a single arse the entire 28 years you been there. They are very jealous about that every time they come to work or look in the mirror ;) |
Re: COPS
Good for you Willy.
I to am a non arse kisser, thats why I have skyrocketed to the rank of corporal in only 19 years. And I got that cause nobody else would put in to be incharge of parking enforcement (the absolute worst job in all of law enforcement). Thankfully a few years ago they split the motorcycles from parking and put with traffic enforcement. |
Re: COPS
Willy, when you decide you on coming down, let me know so I can arrange a few days vacation! Last time wasn't nearly enough time bro!
|
Re: COPS
How you looking in Feb brother, getting to cold here. I am shopping around for a job right now so I am kind of up in the air about what will come up etc. But I am schemeing an southern escape for a few days on my own. Going to try to get a better handle on it the next week or so. When I do I holler at ya, as my close personal friend Ozzie likes to say. As a matter of fact when I find out I'm going to call that old coot and see if he can blow the dust and cobwebs off for a few days with me ;)

Re: COPS

Re: COPS
Well boys, I wore the uniform for the last time last night. A bitter sweet experience that is hard to explain. My guys had a cake made so we ate it at three in the morning.
I am on terminal leave now until my official last day of March 1st. It's been an interesting, to say the least, career. Worked with a lot of good cops. Now I am in full blown job search. But I am also appreciative, not many guys get to take a pension at 28 years, age 52 and start a second career. So I'm looking forward to it, keeping my options open. Life is never dull ;D |
Re: COPS

Re: COPS
Willy, I'm near Chincoteague, VA but pending what ya wanna do, I have never seen a golf course tha wouldn't hire a retired cop for something.
In fact, with your years of community service I'm sure there are many, many doors open to you. Airslot |

Re: COPS
Willy: Here are a few jobs that old police friends of mine have ended up with..Museum security director, charter boat captain, sea tow captain, marine patrol reserve captain, special sheriff deputy, court house security, special deputy marshal for US courts, VA police, federal reserve police, bank security, country club security, insurance investigator, DA investigator, Hunt Club security guy, Wildlife officer, boat store manager, Marina security guy,law enforcement supply salesman, TSA guys, parole officers, prision security , casino jobs and private detectives. In my case I had a $$$ cushy job lined up with the TSA in 2003 as the airport security guy for the mid west region but former AG Janet Reno found out about it and nocked me out of the box. I was the senior career guy and refused to kiss her *** so she zapped me like a bug as I had to list here as my former supervisor...I dont know what was worse my year in the infantry in vietnam or the three years that I reported directly to her (OR HIM)...I'm still not sure that she was a woman..I am now pretty much retired but still do death investigations for a couple of insurance companies overseas which keeps me in the game and buys my flounder minnows ..I just got back from Colombia and next month I go to China and the Philippines on some old missing persons cases...Even though its easy work I still get emotionally involved with the surviving family members who need to come to closure . Last year I had a case of a girl that was missing in the sierras just outside of a major mexican city. To make a long story short she took up with some tuppamarios that ended up raping her for days , killing her and throwing her off a canyon for the coyotes to feed on. When I had my exit interview in LA with her mother I told her that she she was rock climbing in a remote area by herself and fell and that death was instant...Good luck...Frank
