Re: Cuddy vs. CC
if your going offshore, the cuddy wins hands down, i used to fish a 233 Formula cuddy, we ran 6 lines( sometimes 8 on a calm day) and two teasers off the riggers( big riggers for a 23), even though the boat was an I/O we still had plenty of room for three guys to handle the lines and drink, i mean fish. I fished a 23( actually bigger than the Formula) SeaCraft center console later in the year, it was rough so no one got in front of the console, we didn't have near the room that the Formula gave us, we had a mess handling the lines. If it is flat or spread out waves on a regular basis( like in Fl), you can take advantage of the center consoles room, but if its rough, or cold and short chop( form here up the coast), everone ends up behind the console and in the way of the capt.

Re: Cuddy vs. CC
IMO the CC ride a ton better then the cuddy!! I love my cuddy , But If I had know what I know now a DC would be the way to go!!
Have some storage, comfort ride of a CC, and all the fishing area. But finding a good one is going to be the hard part?? Good Luck! |

Re: Cuddy vs. CC
Hello Everyone- I am brand new here & I was refered here from another forum, and it looks like maybe this is where I should post my questions??
I am planning to go look at a 1986 Wellcraft 23 Walkaround cuddy, and was looking for some input on the quality or dislikes / problems with these boats. I am not sure if it is the Coastal or Sportsman Model. It has a 200 O/B on it. Were softening decks and transoms an issue with these? What's the difference in the "Coastal" and "Sportsman"? Couldn't seem to find a classic wellcraft site or anything like that. I am stepping slightly "up" from a smaller CC boat. Any Insight?? Thanks. |

Fish, Check out the old catalogs that are posted under the "History" section on the main page. You should be able to see the difference in the models there.
