Thanks, they tasted even better than they looked. Bubba burgers, the only way to go.
Willy,I'll take you up on that challenge. Don't forget I have home field advantage. If you are staying at the same place that Rob usually stays at then Ocean Beach is probably your best bet. There are plenty of hotels up by me in Toms River. My friend Kyle, who you delt with last year at Ocean Beach marina, lives on the water by Huddy Park. I'm sure you could get a slip there for a few days.

lumberslinger178 06-18-2012 10:29 PM

ok pete sounds good ..... slow start for me this yr just cant seem to find any extra time.....Im ready for a vacation.

Destroyer 06-18-2012 10:47 PM

I hate to say this, but I may not be able to make it. I just found out today that my company has picked that weekend to have our annual overnight trip to AC. (All on the company tab) So now I'm between a rock and a hard place.. I don't think I can make both. (3 hour drive to AC, then 3 hours back, then 2 hours to Barnegat, then 2 hours back again...) Trying to see if I can tow the boat with me to AC, then just go from there up to Barnegat. Staying at the Borgata...gotta find out if they can accominate a vehicle w/trailer for parking.

willy 06-19-2012 06:49 AM

Ah, Capt. Pete you called it!

I've spent a goodly amount of time and money for the last several months getting my boat ready for this meet. This is not what I wanted and I'm really not a happy camper right now. Not sure what anybody "called", but here's some insight. We close on our new house today. Started packing weeks ago. Got a wife who wants to know why I'm spending so much time on the boat with everything else that's going on. We move on July 18th. I've been planning my whole life around this raft up ever since the date was set, and now my company decides on this date for their outing....so .. you tell me how I can be in both places at the same time and I'll be happy to follow your directions...:cen: And that's what I'm talking about!

willy 06-19-2012 10:23 AM

I love ya man!

Sh!t happens.

lumberslinger178 06-19-2012 08:44 PM

Lumber, that is really tempting. And I thank you for your offer. I may just take you up on that... but considering the cleanlyness of your boat it might be embarrassing for you. My boat is functional, but not a show queen. LOL

step up here 06-25-2012 11:40 AM

Four more weeks to go.I hope the weather Gods are with us so maybe we could even get in some fishing too. :sun:

captpete13 06-28-2012 08:53 PM

I'm looking forward to it too. The wife and I are taking our week vacations the week before the get together. So if anyone wants to get in some week day fishing I'm down with that. Much better than weekend fishing.

reelapeelin 06-30-2012 07:05 AM

I wanna bring "REEL Deal" up REEL bad...gas trending down helps...$2.79 here...and those thoughtful pinheads at the IRS determined I overpayed on final return for the BBQ restaurant...sent me a US Treasury check for $4.00...:nut:...F__K ME!...:nut:
Anyway, cruisin' this boat across Barnegat Bay would be like a victory lap for her, so I'd like to do it...but still waitin' last minute to make call...other irons in the fire too...we'll see...

captpete13 06-30-2012 07:26 AM

way to go on the $4! Gas around here ranges from right around $3 for cash to 3.30ish credit. Its over $4 on the water. That's why I got a 29 gallon gas caddy. The fluke bite is getting better every day. And from what I hear there are a few bass still around. If your feeling brave there is tuna about 30-40 miles out. The bay is loading up with blowfish(which really do taste like chicken)and crabs. And unfortunately jellyfish, which means no swimming. But Tices and south still is clear.Let me know if you are heading up this way. My friend lives above a marina in downtown Toms River. It has a half a$$ ramp and plenty of slips and there is a Red Roof Inn less than a block away.

You mean up the Jakes Branch of the Toms River? Rt 166? Near the Courthouse? That's less than a mile from where I used to live. Right on the edge of Beachwood. God that brings back memories. Thanks

lumberslinger178 06-30-2012 11:47 AM

Used to go to Huddy every year to watch the 4th of July fireworks that they would shoot off over in Mathis Park. You could sit on the pier and use grass shrimp to catch perch and the occasional snapper blue. As I recall the crabbing wasn't all that great but I used to see a lot of people doing it there.

the one out on the end with the 200 Yamaha? That's my nephew's boat. I got him a good deal on that thing. I'm hoping he can make it to the get together too.

reelapeelin 07-08-2012 10:06 AM

Tice's Raft-Up...I'll miss it...

lumberslinger178 07-08-2012 09:17 PM

Were going to miss you Ozz.... but were going to take tones of pictures and a few videos.....

Whats a good time to start up Sue and I and Karly and her friend Will ....will be leaving the doct saturday morning around 10 ish ....Pete do you want to anchor north of the pier again ???

Also lets get a head count again

1- The Bumpkins is in for sat....

RWilson2526 07-08-2012 09:37 PM

we'll be in again of course.....from past experience it seems that things dont start forming until after 11.00 am or so.....I know in the past we had some early birds out there that took off before everyone got together.

It is a pretty dynamic situation as sometimes the first guy out there is a all by himself waiting for people to hook up and then 1 hour later he is in the middle of the pack and the next group is 100 yards away looking for everyone else.

lumberslinger178 07-08-2012 09:43 PM

Yes true Rob we are usually the first two boats... north of pier again???

Seems to have worked so far....dont want to say that we are the straw that stirs the drink but i'm saying that Lumber is the anchor...he is usually out there by late am...

Everyone key up on Bump Ken's. North of the pier.

captpete13 07-09-2012 07:30 PM

north of the pier close to the beach works best for us. I have been going in pretty far till we get to 3' of water. So we can walk around in the water. We will try to get our act together and out to the spot sometime before noon

lumberslinger178 07-13-2012 09:25 PM

One week away Brothers.....:sly::sly::sly:

lumberslinger178 07-13-2012 09:27 PM

Btw I hope you guys dont mind but I havent had time to do the teak on my boat yet.... and I dont think I'll have time this week....Sorry:laugh:

captpete13 07-14-2012 09:38 PM

Don't worry Ken. I won't do my teak either...So you don't feel left out.

Question(s)... To help people find each other, what radio freq. are people going to be monitoring? I have both Cb and VHF, and since my home channel in Toms River used to be Chan 6 that's where I'll be for CB. What channel do you guys want to monitor for VHF? :head:

I am in for saturday but I may get their early for some fishing if the weather is good!!!!!!!!!!!Anyone care to to go fluking ?:head:

willy 07-16-2012 07:03 PM

Gonna have to go outside some for fluke my friend, just got back from a week of fishing that bay, all south of Mantoloking bridge to the inlet and south spots I used to catch them up.
Six shorts in a week and had many others I talked to doing much worse.
Went outside for the shorts, two wrecks and a bunch of topographical holes and structure.
I might have to come down and just drink and look at women for a few days.

step up here 07-16-2012 07:14 PM

OK , AM allowed to stay overnight. Looking forward to a good time with all.:nice:
