got all my top end parts now i will start buying bottom end parts

just a quick run down pistons are 30+ but bores have groves in them so going 40+ . bearing are std and the crank needs machining so it will be 10 big ends and 10 mains....It has a new starter and solineod as well .the exhaust manfold looks new as well i think the exhaust manifold rusted out and damaged the bore and they only did a rebore only to cut costs .parts are orded ill keep u guys informed

hi guys got my bottom end parts today. Im surprised they didnt get damaged they were packed badly .instead of putting the pistons in the middle of the gaskets he had them hanging of the end uneven wieght good knows how many times it got throw looked like it feel of a back of a truck well i bought them from mad dog racing the name saus it all .Well im happy there all here may take the block and crank to the machine shop if i can be bothered id sau another $1000 and it will be done :clap:

Don't do much good to have an enginee if your not here to run it. Take care of yourself first, the engine will wait.

time goes fast
Its been since feb 2011 since I decided to rebuild my engine and now im moving forward with it. Took the block . Pistons and crankshaft in today to get them machined . I need to find a friend with a credit card as I cant order connecting rods for Summit with out one there a special order as I need 4 only and they need to know the weight of them but in may case it dosnet matter long as 4 are the same weight they couldn't change their policy's for me. Once i have the rods the balancing can be done. hey I can get one of those one time visa cards just come to me know. Here is some pics of a intake I got .I will try and take as much pics to post step by step
I have been thinking of getting a bigger carb than the 500cfm I have not sure wether 600 or 750 but with auto choke this time anyone had any problems with the edelbrock auto choke holleys ones can over fuel I have drill holes in the flap a few times on cars im sure some wouldn't like that idea |

If you have a debit card, it works like a credit card, and yes they have a card you buy and add $$$ so you can use it, my son has one from walmart

Crankshaft is finally get machined and balanced . Spares I told him to check the cam tunnel he said he and a co worker were looking at it and said you cant even see were the cam was running on the block but is going to measure it up today. They have never seen or worked on one of these engines . they lightly decked the block but there still is some small pit marks I just have to wait till I assembly the short and check the deck height hopefully I can take a little more off
Now theres only the camshaft to decide on I might have to go in to the shop and speak to one of the guys before I decide on a grind Have just one more $1000 order to do with summit and im done with parts seems like I will run out of time this year to do the cosmetic work on the trailer and boat it can wait till next year I really want to use it this year |
Im buying one of these to mainly for the rev limiter yes its not a marine one but ill mount it were it wont get wet

those things will not last anytime at all if you run them in salt. The risers are terrible flow restrictions, those set ups down't make much power, but if you feel you've got to have some bling, check into over the transom pipes for them

thanks spares I haven't had a close look at them I thought they may flow a little better but your telling me they don't .I do like the look of them and the way they bolt up on the head . NOW I don't know what to do they are Horney looking

Your exhaust goes through the prop... that draws a vacuum at speed... more or less flow in the manifold won't matter and with a wet exhaust you aren't really gonna make a difference anyhow

remember, you will only be able to use one of those. If you want to go with better exhaust, look for stainless marine, eddie marine, rex marine, gil marine, performance manifolds that are center riser set ups, there are a ton of them out there for Chevys, finding ones for a 460 Ford isnt going to be easy. Look for something for the OMC King Cobra set ups
