I'm not sure what the basis was for the way it was done, but that's actually a hatch in order to access the hydraulic fluid and the electrical for the sea drive. It also serves nicely as a built in seat.

I'm trying to see if the guy will sell me his windshields and enclosure. You might also notice that there's no steering and it's hard to see if there's a dash on it or not and no seats...

Hammer,

I think people have gotten a lot smarter with Ebay auctions. Most people use sniping tools these days to buy things just seconds before the auction closes. So now the whole point of having a longer auction is to simply get exposure to as large a group as possible so that they will all try and outbid each other just seconds before close of auction... Nobody wants to show any part of their hand.

The whole system has it's strong and weak points.

I'm toying with buying the thing myself... We'll see what happens as we approach the close of the auction.

However, he'll probably get $1000 or so for the hull. But then again, no trailer, no steering, no seats, and possibly no dash/gauges, so maybe not even that. There's a lot of work to be done there even IF the hull is in good shape.

Hey Hammer,

Yeah, I've been taking care of some landscaping around the house :-/

I've got the dually setup pretty good. Got the motor running, but she's idling considerably high. I just found out that one of my neighbors is an outboard mechanic so I'm trying to work in a time when he can come and look everything over before I take her out on her maiden voyage...

Not long now, I hope!

Thanks for asking bud.

BGA, if it goes reel cheep, I may be interested. You could have everything but the hull & bracket. I don;t need another boat at all, but I do have room for it. Make make for a nice project boat?

Cy, thanks for the reply. I'm not sure what I'm gonna do, but I just wanted to make sure I don't step on any toes. You saw it first and brought it to our attention. Thanks!

Air, sounds like we might be able to work something out here. I suppose it will come down to how much the guy ends up wanting for the thing. If nobody buys it off of Ebay, he said he would sell me the windshields and enclosure, but he didn't give a price. However, if you or I simply buy the boat for the opening bid of $500 (hoping nobody else puts in a bid), then I think we can both get what we want.

As you said, that would be a GREAT project boat, but I would hate to have one of the projects be for you to find windshields for the thing later down the road. Been there, doing that... But if you're up for that, then that would be great. As I said on another post, I don't need another boat; one is quite enough for me.

Anyway, let me know what you're thinking when you get a moment.
