Re: Preferred Power?????
that would look so good in your boat you've have to build a clear motor cover just to admir the HP in the Beast lol.

Re: Preferred Power?????
back to the original thread...for a moment...,my "prefered" power would be the v-6 200HP that is in my wifes Honda. It's a 2000, w/75,000 miles and it truly runs and sounds like the day we bought it. Aside from oil changes, you could just weld the hood shut.

Re: Preferred Power?????
Hey Franco you dried out yet bud ;D listen about those smart tabs you asked about I checked on them and am still thinking about them. I called the company because I had a concern, that was with regular trim tabs you never have them deployed(down) in following seas or when drifting in a chop because a wave can literally excert strong downward force on them sending your stern deep especially in the case of *** heavy boat like mine( because of the 530 lbs motor by the way 8)) and when I talked with them they said they were working on a cord type clip on you run to the top of the stern for that reason ::) I don't know bud I would think more about fixed tabs

Re: Preferred Power?????
I believe Ship Shape TV did a removal of a new set of smart tabs and replaced with others because of poor control when backing up.

Re: Preferred Power?????
Hey, Franco drop that 454 in w/a JET-DRIVE and you can do BAT-TURNS in the canal...buddy of mine grew up w/a 454 jet in some kinda go-fast ski boat...they would be goin' 70 mph, CRANK the wheel HARD all the way and be goin' 180 degrees in nothin' flat...ripped the seat out one time :o...
But on the "smart tabs"...I'm sure I remember some one(maybe on THT) sayin', "save your money"...as some of the reasons you want tabs, those capabilities just aren't there... ???... Oh and BR...still LMAO over the "Move your fat-a$$ over"...LOL!...was that your mother-in-law?... Pipe...sorry, Buddy...you've already been named as co-conspirator... ::)... |

Re: Preferred Power?????
I have 175 Yamaha with a 15 1/4x works nice for me!
I have been looking at trim tabs for a long time!! I have checked them out over and over, If I go with them I think I will be going with the Lenco electric. I like the clean and simple install, over the Bennet. But the Bennet is a little better system, as far as power. I no a couple of people with the lencos and you have to raise or lower them one at a time, cause if you try to load them up at the same time you can burn out the motor. But once you know that and rasie up un side at a time you never seem to have a problem. I just hate to have one more oil set up on the boat!! I always always have a leak with oil stuff!! Oil and I just don't get along!! |
