Re: How Much Weight is Too Much? Got New to Me En
90 is exactly what a 200 / 255 looper should be even, only the 120/130/140 loopers will run be on 125 to be perfect. I have a brand new from OMC 225 powerhead in the garage with 0 hours on it and it has 90 exact on all 6. OMC Shop Manual says anything with shaved heads should not exceed over 105 can cause motor and starter damage.

Re: How Much Weight is Too Much? Got New to Me En
Decarb the motor, Carbon builds an gives you low numbers sometimes, Yamaha is know for this alot!!
But as Stink said, as long as they are all close it all good |
Re: How Much Weight is Too Much? Got New to Me En
...not to mention you can use two different compression testers on the same motor and get different readings.

Looks good, but as the add above states, "Thanks to advances in boat-building technology over the last decade, modern transoms are created to withstand torque. " We are not talking about new boats, we are talking about 20+ year old boats that were never built to with stand the toruqe!! 400+ pounds sticking out 3 feet from the transom is a lot of tourqe, and I anit taking any chances on my 31 year old boat! Looks like crap, but works, and just takes 1 min longer to hook up! I will get a pic later, but its home made and looks ruff, but it works!! |

So I guess the gist of what you are saying is that a transom saver is a better way to transfer weight/force to another source ( trailer), right?
