Seriously though, I'm curious, what would a guy do in that situation? *Would Sea Tow or Boat US answer the call and just charge the full amount? *Seems to me it would be a very lucrative thing for them to do...

You are gonna call SEATOW!! I know the captain down here personally and he WILL get you in up to 50 out. If you are more than that he will have the CG get you to within his range...still NO charge. Been there, done that on a BIG boat. ;)

I still prefer the "Good Ole Boy" *towing and salvage company...

... radio or flag someone down and offer them a hundred bucks and a case of their favorite beer!!

;D

I've been offered the money before, which I would never take because of the very bad karma, but I think I'd take ya up on the beer!

I have been down 3 times, two times flaged people down, 1 time was out with buddy and they towed me in.

On the other hand I have towed in 6 people in my time on the water. And Jump started 3 others ;)

new motor goes on in about 10 days. even with new motor I'll still buy seatow. use it once and it pays for itself. you never know when you will pick up a lobster pot or have something else happen.

There are several Sea Tow agents around my coastal grounds. *If they wont tow me in for $500.00, I'll wave down/radio someone for a ride in, pull the plug, and get another V.

Plus, my uncle is usually fishing somewhere in the area, he of one of his buddies will help out.

But maybe I should check w/ Sea Tow on their rates, my insurance offered several levels of coverage up to $2000.00 per incident for not much more $.

I looked at my policy yesterday, it $29.00 a year instead of $35.

Good for you!!!! You will be very happy with the motor.

I suggest the 14 x 19 pitch prop for skiing/strong outta the hole, and the 14 x 21p for good cruising rpms, depending on what you will be doing most.

Blue Runner thats why next time you go off shore we need to hook up and I'll take a group. We could have a little fish off and if someone breaks down we have a free tow.

Me and Franco and Ozzie are Sebastian Vice and we do an occasional rescue, for a smile and a handshake. Unless there are women aboard then there are additional fees 8)
