Re: Outboard Motor Stand

http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a46...s/MVC-028S.jpg Here's the new one i welded up out of scrap metal. I've run some 225's on it currently holding a 200 http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a46...s/MVC-025S.jpg http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a46...s/MVC-024S.jpg http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a46...s/MVC-021S.jpg http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a46...s/MVC-029S.jpg Notice i welded on a piece to hold the motor straight so it will not turn and can start without it torque'in http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a46...s/MVC-026S.jpg http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a46...s/MVC-027S.jpg http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a46...s/MVC-023S.jpg |

Re: Outboard Motor Stand
lol Hey Hey i made templets this weekend out of cardboard for a V20 . I sat the Sea Ray ones in the V20 and they were way to wide but after much measuring i figured out how to make a set fit. i took the Sea Ray ones apart and got the plywood drawings off it.

Re: Outboard Motor Stand
Its like when you are lying in the lounge chair after cutting all the grass on a beautiful July afternoon. The barby is going and the wife has chicken ribs and burgers going and you can smell the sweet smell, you know its coming, soon ribs and seats ribs and seats ;D

Re: Outboard Motor Stand
Reel,
Thank you buddy. I'll be putting your picture to use this week. I really do appreciate it. |
Re: Outboard Motor Stand
Just a follow up...
I built it about three weeks ago, but forgot to post the pictures. It's a bit too tall, so I'll make some adjustments later, but it's strong! I plan on putting both engines on it. Thanks again for all of your help guys. http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...e/100_0392.jpg http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...e/100_0391.jpg |
Re: Outboard Motor Stand
Rev., that's a fine lookin' motor-stand...wouldn't change a thing!! ;D ;D...why too tall?...

Re: Outboard Motor Stand
Hi RAP,
There's like a foot or so of clearance between the skeg and the horizontal piece of wood (and that's on a 25" shaft). That would make working on the engine a little more difficult since the power unit is so high up from the ground. Also, that middle vertical piece was cut, fitted, and attached since the taking of the photo. Thanks for the compliment RAP and feel free to call me Steve or whatever ;) |
Re: Outboard Motor Stand
Well on 2nd look it is a little taller than I thought... ;) :D...hope I didn't offend w/ the Rev. reference...we don't use many REEL names around here...just pick up nicknames...take the Grand Pubah for instance... 8) 8) 8)...
