Re: Time to Clean Up
4.2L crank and 4.0L block +.030 is a 4.6L, 4.7L is +.060. JEEP should have run the longer stroke from the get go, it really brodens out the torque curve and pulls from idle to the sky. The one I did has a COMP EXTREME 4X4 cam(.462/.485 lift), OFFENHAUSER 4 barrel intake, HOLLEY 390 CFM 4 barrel carb, 94 high port head(massaged over some), 88 block standard bore, 88 4.2 crank, 88 distributor, and an MSD ignition with 6A box and BLASTER 3 coil. I'm personally not happy with the short rods and stock pistons(10:1 compression isn't really pump gas friendly for the most part) as it causes some spark knock issues. I had to drop the timing down to 26 total for 89 octane fuel. We played with it a little on 93 with booster and the timing set at 32 total :o ;D, it was AWESOME!!!! But he had me tune it down for streetability and cheaper fuel.
