Top up under 40mph - took the words right outta my mouth. Now you might have to adjust that 40mph when you factor in any gusty wind that might be blowing around. 8)
I'm about 7 or 8 miles from the ramp, so I'll probably trailer with it up when the weather warrants it. Its just now starting to cool off here in NC. |

See I told you he is still around ;D and he better stay on this site to help me figure out where all the skeletons are on the boat :o Oh and if you are still on Fillet I called the marina guy and left a message so if you hear from him that is why

Re: Fraternal Order of Norton Snaggers

Anyone ever put a kicker motor on a boat with a bracket? Not enough room on the bracket itself and pretty far back to put a steering arm from the main motor

Re: Fraternal Order of Norton Snaggers

Willy, I'm invisioning a single motor (narrow) bracket and attempting to add a small kicker for trollin' and "get-home"...steerin' kicker from helm...that does sound like a tough one...methinks it'll take some "shade-tree engineering"... ;) :)...
post some pics from several angles...w/the kicker deployed, how far behind is the big motor?... ???... |

Re: Fraternal Order of Norton Snaggers

I don't know yet RP I have not p/u boat from Fillet yet, next week. Bracket is 28" so it is going to be quite a stretch to install kicker with helm steering, I dont know how far the brackets you put on a transom for kickers extends I'm sure there is a variety but it sure won't be 28" plus the depth of a 115 v4

Re: Fraternal Order of Norton Snaggers

Keep the faith, Willy...some are adjustable and may reach further than ya think...but it seems you're gonna have to mount everything (or at least see WHERE it's gonna mount), then see what you got to work with...are you gonna use the kicker-bracket that "scissors" up/down?...that one holds the motor off pretty good... ;)...

Re: Fraternal Order of Norton Snaggers

im a bit surprised noone thought of this before... although with my sea ray, i came home under kicker power quite a few times. drop the kicker down, start her up, point her dead straight and simply use you main outboard as a rudder. of course you wont be turning on a dime or docking like a champ but course changes are a snap with this method. try it and see.
