Ok stinky, treated lumber? Did you have to BUY the materials or were they recycled? I just don't see how you'd could pull it off for "well under $700" if you had to buy the materials, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

Yeah Phes, not really very expensive. My main point was that it would never be paid for. Nothin wrong with it at all. Just pointin it out. I spend more than that on beer so I can't say a word!

OK here goes...I posted a pic of it a long time ago, but I cant find it...Ill take more tonight and post em.

I lied, its 12'high plus about another 8-10" over that for the truss height.

All of course treated

6 4x4x14...2' in ground (all concreted) 20.00/each=120.00
14-2x4x8 Trusses 2.97 each =41.58
7-2x6x12 brace across trusses 8.97 each=63.00
4-2x6x12 sides 8.97each=17.94
Concrete 6 80lb bags =3.20 each=50.00

I used 12' lengths of v crimp tin that I got CHEAP due to the dents in em. but even at regular price you will be under budget. I would suggest going with the commercial grade corregated though as it isnt much more $$ I just used the v crimp cause I got it less than half price.

regular price tin is 13.00/12' length need 16=208



It is all also all screwed together with 3"galvanized deck screws...$25/box

total $555.52 including screws and straps! ;D

Stinkman, do you have walls/sides....or is that what the tarps are for? I'd like to see your pics, thanks.BR, here is a good way to rationalize the 749.00....shrinkwrap@ 10-12.00 per foot,about 225$ and rip it off and throw it out in the spring. 225$ per year x 7= 1575 vs. 749$ and I get to use it 365 days a year, and lastly, I'll duct tape my nudie calenders!!

So true Phes. I know I'd never shrink wrap my boat because I never put it up for the winter. Just keep right on using it. In fact, we've had quite a few 60 + days this winter thus far with more in sight! Calling for 67 on Saturday!

Also, think of the alternative of NOT keeping some sort of cover over your boat and the $749 is EASY to rationalize. Water, dirt, leaves, cat pee, hail, dust, snow, varmits building nests....all this can add up to well over $749. Bottom line, if you got a nice boat - protect your investment (even though it is a crappy investment).

Currently I'm keeping my boat under a metal shed like I the one I mentioned earlier. Its not mine, we are renting a house while refurbishing our main house and the shed was there already. Only drawback to this shed is that its not tall enough to pull my boat under with the top and enclosure on. It'd be nice if I could.
