Re: AT LAST!!
Congrats Cbe! I've seen her close up boys and she does need a little tlc, but so did mine.
Don't forget we're going to Beach Hammock this weekend to knock back a couple of cocolas if you can work it out. OR you can take a ride in Dragline's cuddy! Following Seas Steve |
Re: AT LAST!!
I still think it looks like somebody took the back mid section off a boat like mine and did a nice job of installing it. It may also have been a factory option installed after the fact. Look at the back inside of my boat. I think this is exactly what CBE's is:

Re: AT LAST!!
Thanks for all the encouragement fellas. *I feel like a little kid right now. :) :) :) :) :) :) ;D ;D :D ;) ;D 8)
As far as the transom goes, I believe the full across transom like willy showed from the wellcraft site wasn't introduced until 1988. *Before that they just used a normal cutaway/washwell deck cap with an I/O hull. *Then made a piece that fills the gap where the cutaway would normally be in the cap. *It's pretty easy to see this, once you look inside the bilge. This transom has not been filled. *All the glass on the transom is definitely factory. *I have seen both types of hull caps in my searching for this particular boat. *All the ones I saw like mine were 1987 and older. * I am not going to keep the seadrive mount/engine combo. *I don't particularly care for a 20 year old motor. When I can afford it, I will get an Armstrong full floatation bracket, and a Suzuki four stroke. Now back to that wiring, Chris BTW, Grace It looks like someone did a really nice job of filling the seams and molding your cap filler into the cap. I looked at a dually just like yours here, same year as yours and its just like mine(with the seams). wierd. |
Re: AT LAST!!
Thanks for the compliment Chris. You're right, it is weird...
Hey, I just noticed an 87 Dually with full transom that has the seams showing... *You can see it here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1987-...54036306QQrdZ1 |
Re: AT LAST!!
Actually CBE the full across transom is all I have seen in pre 1988 boats that were sea drives, that is what mine is, 1985 V20 sea drive converted to bracket/outboard.
Thats why I think yours and Grace's are so interesting to me, never seen that kind of transom before. Maybe BS or someone else who knows more of the history of the V's could shed some light. You know someone who was around way back then, not like me 8) |
Re: AT LAST!!
