Re: Bow Rail
I guess I'm a BAD-DADDY...my kids have always ridden the bow...and always w/ PFDS of course...keep speed down and a real watchful eye for wakes, etc... ::)...

Re: Bow Rail
This bowrails bases were cracked and the rail bent. Must'a taken a hit dockside. I like it better bare.
Re; Bow riding...I used to let my black lab hang out on the front of my Bonito while I chased ducks. One day I almost caught up with one and my dog jumped overboard off the bow. I shut the motor down and jumped in after him. Thank God he was OK. I swore I'd never let'm do that again...he never tried either. |
Re: Bow Rail
The angled joints on mine are all corroded, I was going to buy replacements for them and redo it but after seeing those boats without it I LIKE IT
What do you guys refill the deck holes with 5200 ? Might be my rehab project on Old School since I can't get out and fish :-/ |
Re: Bow Rail
I think it will be hard to match the color so the holes don't show up, any suggestions from anyone if you are not going to paint the boat ???

Re: Bow Rail
I replaced my bow riail with a toe rail made from 1"x1" starboard (what else!). I glassed the deck holes from the rail stanchions and just drilled new holes for the toe rail. Still have something to stop me (or a screwdriver) before going over.

Re: Bow Rail
When I had the '72 V20 I was an anti-bowrail'er cause the bow rail on the boat was old and corroded and not much good, but with the '94 V-21 its welded stainless and I can do chin ups on it. I can't believe how much difference it makes compared to the correded type. :-/ I'm now pro-bowrail 8)
BUT, THEY DO LOOK NICE WITHOUT THEM TOO, DON'T THEY? ??? 8) :D |
