I like DD and KK. But where I grew up there was a significant German influence, and local bakeries were THE thing. Nothing like that around here. As for coffee, it just needs to be strong and black.

Hey Reel, wait up -- I'm coming with you!

I grew up on Danish pastries. None of them around here anymore.
Last time I had a jelly fillled donut at Dunkin the girl behind the counter kept giggling at me.
I asked her what was wrong...she said "Nothing honey, you remind me of...." :-[
Wimins sure are bold these days.

Pipe, did you grow up in Pennsylvania??

Here in my home area, Leesport/ Reading, Pa.
there are so many local doghnut shops it's crazy.
They beat KK & DD hands down.

We also have a number of farmers markets with
home made stands, there is nothing like
home made sticky buns with walnuts. :P

I grew up in northern Kentucky. The "Greater Cincinnati" area received a lot of German immigrants, my ancestors were among them.

Grits in the South, I grew up eating goetta with my eggs. Anyone here know what that is?
