Re: Main Floor Drains

Somewhere about 1988 they raised the deck maybe 2", at the expense of cockpit depth. I'm just guessing here, but I'd bet that pre 88 I/O's drain to the bilge and 88 and later dran overboard. I'm sure Wellcraft had a good reason.

I'm not sure if there is a waterline difference between Outboard and I/O boat or not. Maybe Wellcraft just though that with a full transon it would be OK? Bilge pump can handle rain water, but with a notched transom they wanted the floor to drain better? I'm reaching here....

Here you go I took 2 of the outside (port & stbd) and one from the inside, the inside is 2-3" below my dk level, the rod box is remvd and the image is shown below the main dk lvl.

ps the chrome outlet is the dk drn and of course the blue line is the water line, but I never get water back into the boat unless I have a 350lb+ guy in there standing right at the drain. Also the plastic overbd drn and is 2-3" abv dk level. The inside pic shows the shoulder support for the dk so that should give you a idea of the placement.

Were are your drains on the deck? and how do they stop the water from going down threw the engine cover?

Thanks!
